Wieland’s wienet Managed Switches provide full network control

Managed Switches from Wieland Electric allow full control and diagnosis of industrial Ethernet networks. By means of standard ring topology, the switches allow redundant topologies and thereby boost network availability. These switches offer protection against unauthorised access/data traffic, greater resilience and prioritisation of data with real- time requirements. wienet Managed Switches support processes including

ERPS, RSTP, STP and MRP for Profinet networks (certified up to Conformance Class B) and are adapted for Ethernet IPs. Different port variants from 10/100 Base-T(X) RJ45 ports to variable SFP ports and even Gigabit Combo ports allow for optimal adaptation to the application environment. The full PoE+ performance of 30 W can be tapped with a 51 VDC power supply up to a maximum of 8 ports.

Are you ready to ship under ISPM15 regulations?

For any UK business shipping goods within the EU, the latest changes to regulations will be a vital consideration. Wooden packaging, including pallets, must now meet ISPM15 standards when being shipped. This regulation ensures pallets have been treated to eradicate pests and are then stamped to reinforce this action has been carried out. While demand and prices for these types of compliant pallets will be on the rise, there are alternatives to consider. The best alternative to Wooden Pallets, is Plastic Pallets. Plastic Pallets completely avoid the

ISPM15 regulations, are more hygienic and reliable, and making the switch now will minimize any potential disruption to your supply chain now that these regulations have come into effect.

Warrior 750i is ESAB’s most powerful multiprocess welder, combines durability, portability and performance

ESAB Welding & Cutting Products has launched its Warrior® 750i CC/CV, a multi-process welding power source with a 750-amp output at 100 percent duty cycle and top output of 850 amps, which is up to 100 amps more power than competitive systems. Warrior 750i can carbon arc gouge with 13 mm electrodes, creating a stable gouging performance to produce high quality results at the maximum output. The unit’s extra power enables greater productivity with larger diameter electrodes in flux cored welding, hardfacing, cladding and mechanised applications. These processes are widely used in shipyards, offshore fabrication, civil construction, structural steel, heavy equipment fabrication and other industrial fabrication activities. The inverter-based Warrior 750i weighs 97 kg, offers MIG, flux cored, MMA and TIG welding, uses 380V – 460V AC ± 10 percent 3ph main power and has an electrical efficiency of 91 percent.

Renovotec’s ‘life after Brexit’ warehouse consulting service: deploying technology to replace people

• Warehousing and logistics labour crisis follows Brexit exodus of over 250,000 EU citizens from the UK

• Renovotec consulting solutions enable same-service warehousing with up to 30% fewer staff “Market demand for storage and distribution is escalating while labour levels in the industry are

at an all-time low. Our consulting service enables supply chain companies to find radical tech alternatives for today’s post-Brexit marketplace” says Renovotec managing director Richard Gilliard Supply chain technology consultant Renovotec is introducing a ‘Life after Brexit’ warehouse

consulting service that reveals the ways in which technology can be used to replace people in warehousing and distribution, enabling staff reductions of up to 30% according to Renovotec. The introduction of its new service follows an exodus of over 250,000 EU citizens from the UK after Brexit*, many of whom would have

The move will support Liberty Steel Group’s carbon-neutral ambitions by reducing the amount of

air compressor-related carbon emissions by up to 30 per cent. Capable of managing an infinite number of locally interconnected fixed speed or variable output

AIRMATICS to support major steel manufacturer’s green pledge

Fully integrated steel producer, Liberty Steel Group, has appointed global compressor control, performance and monitoring solutions expert, CMC, to install AIRMATICSTM at the UK’s flagship Speciality Steels site in Rotherham. AIRMATICSTM is a cloud-based solution that provides data, analytics and insights for

individual compressors through to entire compressed air systems, in real time, via an easy-to- use graphical interface.

air compressors, regardless of their age and manufacturer, AIRMATICSTM will now help Liberty Steel manage its entire fleet of SullairTS20-200 compressors, which are used to produce 100,000 tonnes of high-grade steel each year. Liberty Steel Group’s decision to install AIRMATICSTM is also expected to cut the firm’s annual air

compressor energy bill, which currently stands at £250,000, by up to £75,000. Andy Thompson, Department Engineer at Liberty Steel Group, comments: “On a site that

typically produces 2,000 tonnes of steel each week for the aerospace, oil and gas, and industrial engineering sectors, we tend to use large volumes of compressed air. Until now, we’ve been sending air out without fully understanding its efficacy or knowing how or where leaks were happening. Now, via AIRMATICS, we can not only access forensic levels of data relating to each of our assets, but also understand exactly how our air is being used and how we can further reduce our carbon footprint.”
