DANFOSS POWER SOLUTIONS INTRODUCES COUNTERBALANCE VALVE FOR H1B BENT-AXIS MOTOR
D
anfoss Power Solutions, a leading global supplier of mobile and industrial hydraulics as well as electric powertrain systems, has introduced a counterbalance valve for its H1B bent-axis motor, expanding the motor’s application to open-circuit systems. Specifically designed for the motor, the counterbalance valve enables original equipment manufacturers to harness the benefits of the variable-speed H1B motor, including compact design and efficiency, in high-power drivetrain and winching applications while preventing overspeed and cavitation.
In comparison to competitive offerings, the counterbalance valve for H1B reduces pressure drop, improving system efficiency, and features integrated pressure relief valves, simplifying system integration and reducing time to market. The valve also offers a broad range of options
to optimize performance through damping and overall behavior of the main spool, as well as an optional charge port for external charging or system heat-up.
“Our customers know and love our H1 family of bent-axis motors,” said Sünje Marsch, high-power portfolio manager, Hydrostatics, Danfoss Power Solutions. “This new counterbalance valve enables them to bring a motor they’ve used for years in closed-circuit propel systems to open-circuit systems, with the high power density and precise control they need for such applications.” Danfoss H1B motors with counterbalance valve are ideal for wheeled and crawler excavators, crawler and truck cranes, and drilling and pipe handling applications. The DN32 counterbalance valve, available in two versions, fits H1B motors with displacements ranging from 160 to 250 cubic
centimeters. A DN25 valve, to be introduced in 2023, will fit H1B motors with displacements ranging from 80 to 110 cc.

PARKER ANNOUNCES THE VA SERIES OF NEXT-GENERATION
LOAD SENSING VALVES FOR MOBILE MACHINERY Pre-compensated, proportional and load sensing: new LS valves with flow rates up to 450 l/min for mobile machinery applications.
P
arker Hannifin, the global leader in motion and control technologies, is announcing a set of next-generation pre-compensated load sensing (LS) valves, as part of the VA Series, designed specifically for highly demanding mobile machinery applications.
The market-leading performance of the VA Series mobile directional control valves ensures outstanding maneuverability and robustness, as well as allowing greater flexibility and modularity. These valves are designed and prepared to meet future demands within a range of challenging industries, such as forestry, construction, mining and material handling.
The VA Series is based on Parker’s existing high- end L90LS and K220LS valves that are renowned for their robustness, controllability and flexibility. These next-generation pre-compensated LS valves have been substantially improved to increase modularity and to allow customer efficient solutions. For example, these valves have been designed with a focus on reducing space claim and enhancing mounting possibilities, while also optimizing channels to minimize flow losses. With a maximum flow to workport of up to 450 l/min, the VA Series follows in the footsteps of the K220LS valve and takes the performance to the next level. The VA Series has been designed and optimized with features such as on-board electronics and readiness for Industry 4.0 or

any other future demands regarding IoT and diagnostics. In addition to this, the new valve series also incorporates latest hydraulic features – proportional counter pressure with active refill, warm-up possibilities, plus several other performance-enhancing improvements that herald the dawn of the next generation in mobile directional control valves.
With the VA Series, Parker continues to deliver high-end solutions with function adapted spools and seamless integration of function
manifolds specially designed for specific customer needs. With focus on sustainability and energy efficiency from raw material to finished product reducing the total environmental footprint, the VA Series remains true to Parker’s goal of engineering for a better tomorrow.
The VA300 is the first valve of the new series to be released. The next valve in the series, VA450, is set to be launched at the start of 2023.
