market and driving changes for the better. Mitsubishi Electric has become an integral
part of the fabric of Irish business and Ireland’s manufacturing industry and will continue to support its customers into the future. Their automation equipment and solutions have earned a global reputation for a higher standard of performance, uncompromising reliability, cost-savings and carbon footprint reducing energy efficiency Since its introduction of its advanced
robot range and its innovative PLCs in the early 80s, Mitsubishi Electric has led the way in pioneering advanced solutions for industry. In early 2000’s Mitsubishi Electric were ahead of the curve when it came to introducing Industry 4.0 solutions with the development of its e-Factory concept and programme, supporting businesses digital transformation. At its core e-Factory is the interconnectivity of the various automation devices within a manufacturing or process setting, the collection of critical and useful data from those devices and the subsequent analytics of this data to deliver valuable visualisation and guidance to the operators and owners of such plants and sites, thereby maximising their overall plant productivity, reliability, energy efficiency and profitability. Hence e-Factory mirrors Industry 4.0 and the Industrial Internet of Things. The automation division has continued to lead the market in technology breakthroughs in the coming years as it introduced industry first features such as including smart conditioning monitoring and corrosive gas alerts in their inverter drive technology and embedding Artificial Intelligence into its hardware and devices. Mitsubishi Electric filed nearly three thousand patents last year, ranking them first among Japanese firms and third globally in terms of international patent applications filed in 2020, a true testament to their intention to continue to offer cutting edge solutions for automation and energy distribution around it’s Controls and Visualisation, Switchgear, VSDs and Robotics right through to advanced AI and IOT technologies, which will dramatically improve manufacturing, process plants and energy distribution in Ireland for the better for years to come.
