ADVERTORIAL TECHNOLOGY IN ACTION

Fulton launches world-first boiler design

T

he VSRT is the first steam boiler to emerge from Fulton’s new ‘PURE Technology’ approach, an initiative that’s resulted in a world-first design that is durable, long-lasting and boasts the highest efficiencies and ultra-low NOx emissions as standard. Commenting, Fulton’s Leigh Bryan says: “PURE Technology aims to enhance

heat transfer, provide class-leading efficiencies, improve steam quality and reduce NOx emissions. “Rather than further-improve products like our J Series to achieve these

goals, PURE Technology – the culmination of Fulton’s clean slate approach to design – challenges the industry status quo on conventional boiler design by engineering solutions that are fit-for-purpose and fully-optimised for all applications.” says Leigh.

three dimensions at once. The PMD technology that ifm has been using for some time in ground-breaking optical sensors has many more uses. Sensors using this photonic mixer device detect a single point several metres distant from the sensor, and actually measure that distance using time-of-flight. The revolutionary feature of PMD is in capturing that information from a single point, on a single electronic chip. That single point with its distance measurement assembled into an array on a slightly larger chip provides three axes of measurement, resulting in a truly three-dimensional view from a given point.

performance and maintaining rigidity. This integrated spring feature allows facial movement ensuring the mask offers a secure face fit and seal during speech or movement of the jaw. The pioneering Typhoon™ valve has been designed to reduce breathing resistance, heat and moisture build-up. The valve is unaffected by any moisture, and therefore maintains high performance levels even at very low temperatures (-40°C tested). The new Springfit™ is extremely comfortable with adjustable straps so the mask

can be fitted comfortably to all head sizes and shapes. The foam area around the inside of the mask ensures the mask is comfortable to wear and the welded nose piece gives the mask a tighter fit ensuring a good face fit.

New easy programmable TFT displays with touch

M

MS Electronics added two new displays to their extensive range of programmable displays. EA uniTFT050 (5.0”

800x480 pixel) and EA uniTFT101 (10.1” IPS 1280x800 pixel) use the UNISKETCH software with drag and drop function and object graphics programming. Design engineers and systems integrators benefit from shorter development times and gain more flexibility. These TFT display modules, with on-board powerful controller, open up many new possibilities for developers and users. Objects can be placed, moved, rotated, combined and deleted at any time. All objects can be positioned, rotated and zoomed in as required. Attributes such as transparency and colour can be assigned. Objects can be linked to actions and I/O. Elegant effects such as fading in and out or flying in are possible. Commands for sliders, dials, buttons, images, MP3 sound files, data logging and calculations are included. In many cases the on-board processor can take on control tasks without requiring an external controller. 7 interfaces are available USB, 2 x SPI, 2 x RS-232 and 2 x I²C. 4 analogue inputs, PWM output, 16 digital I/O and SD card. It even has an analogue video camera input. To discover all features download the uniSKETCH program and start by simulating the demo programs on your desktop.
