explosive dust cloud. The creation of a risk mitigation plan is therefore necessary for most facilities - including many that would not traditionally be considered ‘dangerous.’ Along with studying legislation requirements in your region, reducing the likelihood of an incident is the best possible step, beginning with ‘Is my dust actually combustible?’ However, this is not as straightforward as it might sound. On page 12, Donaldson’s Koen Oostvogels provides an introduction to combustible dust. If you have a comment, opinon or story that you’d

tanley has partnered with Ansell Inteliforz Motion Series, a wearable sensor technology for the hands and wrists that
helps reduce risky movements that can lead to work-related musculoskeletal disorders. This latest partnership forms part of Stanley’s continued push into the Artificial Intelligence (AI) health and safety product market. The Inteliforz pod identifies
risky hand and wrist movements with a small wearable device that is inserted into a hand wrap which can then be worn over a protective glove. It can capture up to 60 hand and wrist motions every minute to assess risk, allowing workers to view their movements and undertake training and coaching opportunities if needed. If a worker makes a movement that might put them at risk of injury, the device delivers a haptic buzz to remind them to adjust position. The sensor can be removed and recharged at the end of every shift. The charging station also establishes data communication with cloud services to upload theWearable Pod Sensor data daily to the

Cloud. This data is then collated for the worker and management team to view and to help the business to implement health and safety training changes as required. Graham Sharp, managing director of Stanley
said: “Hand and wrist injuries are one of the most common injury issues to arise in the workplace and often occur when working on repetitive tasks such as food processing, assembly line work and working with computers. This exciting product helps to reduce the risk that comes with tasks that use continuous hand movements and has been shown
to reduce risky hand and wrist movements up to 20 per cent in threemonths. One of the most important aspects of this product is the amount of proprietary data it generates, allowing businesses to learn and adjust their training accordingly. AI products like this one are currently transforming safety in the workplace and will in turn save businesses both time and money that would otherwise be lost to injury.”

lackline Safety’s recently launched G6 single-gas detector has been recognised for innovative product design by Red Dot,
and for outstanding product development in the area of industrial hygiene byOccupational Health & Safety (OH&S). “The Red Dot award validates the user-
centred approach we took when collaborating on G6’s development with our design partner, Advanta Design,” said Phil Benson, vice president, Product Design & Data Analytics at Blackline Safety. “We kept HSE workers and their real-world tasks in mind through every step of the design process.” Based in Germany, the Red Dot Award, is a
globally recognised symbol of product design excellence. The company previously won a Red Dot Award in 2017 for its G7 product.
In addition to product
design, G6 has been honoured for outstanding product development in the Gas and Vapor Monitoring category by OH&S through its Industrial Hygiene Awards. Unveiled in late 2022, G6 is a fully connected
and intuitive connected single-gas detector that leverages instant cloud connectivity and integrated location technology to help organisations quickly respond to incidents.Over time, data from G6 usage helps organisations get ahead of possible safety risks by leveraging visuals of high alarm rates and low compliance, as well as data insights from its analytics platform.
