MASTENBROEK INTRODUCES THE 50/50 FOR EUROPEAN DEWATERING PROJECTS
A specialist manufacturer of trenching and dewatering machines has announced a new model specifically designed for European contractors.

Clark Europe and Zeppelin Polska Sp. z o.o. have signed a cooperation agreement. With this strategic partnership, the manufacturer of industrial trucks aims to further expand its presence on the Polish market, and at the same time strengthen its position as a major supplier of industrial trucks in Europe.

Mastenbroek has this month revealed plans to develop the 50/50, a horizontal dewatering trencher aimed particularly at contractors working on hydrogen and electricity infrastructure projects across Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany.
Based on the highly successful 40/50 horizontal dewatering trencher, the 50/50 is a versatile machine suitable for
horizontal dewatering applications at depths of up to 5 metres. A key feature of the 50/50 is its sub-35 tonne weight and 2.95m width, making it readily transportable by road.
Mastenbroek has utilised the power and low emissions of the Volvo EU Stage 5 405kw (551hp) engine to deliver impressive performance while complying with the stringent environmental regulations.
Built for the rigours of deep trenching, Mastenbroek’s vertical trenching mechanism can be slewed for curved trench lines, and the trench verticality is automatically maintained according to machine pitch and roll.
“We don’t know if the recent increase in interest and enquiries from European dewatering contractors is linked to the introduction of our mammoth 160/18 dewatering machine which is in use in North America and can dewater to depths of nine metres, or if it is due to us developing the Bulldog trencher specifically for US contractors, but we’re enjoying responding to people’s questions,” says Christopher Pett, Mastenbroek’s commercial director. “We always aim to react to our customers’ needs, and that’s why we’ve developed the 50/50, which is now available to order.”
In addition to the 50/50 and 160/18, Mastenbroek also offers the 70/80, which is suitable for horizontal dewatering applications at depths of up to 7.5 metres.
