FILTRATION & FANS

T

he Weller brand is synonymous with high- performance soldering stations and a strong commitment to workplace health and safety. “As the world’s leading manufacturer of hand soldering equipment, we recognise the importance of a clean and healthy working environment. Our new ZeroSmog Guard solder fume extraction system—now available in three versions via the Conrad Sourcing Platform—is the quietest on the market,” says Marcel Teller, senior director, Global Product Management and R&D at Weller Tools. When paired with the powerful new WT1M compact soldering station, it enables workers to solder flexibly and efficiently while benefiting from clean air.

LOW NOISE, SPACE-SAVING DESIGN The ZeroSmog Guard operates quietly and reliably, maintaining a noise level below 50 dB—even in continuous operation. This makes it one of the quietest fume extractors on the market. Its compact design allows it to be placed under the workbench, preserving 100 per cent of the workspace. There is a choice of three ZeroSmog Guard models: The entry-level ZeroSmog Guard Light model is complemented by the advanced ZeroSmog Guard, which also features a filter status indicator, adjustable suction power, a KMnO4 filter, and an optional remote control. The ZeroSmog Guard 2 offers the same features but is designed for use at two workstations simultaneously.

THREE-STAGE FILTRATION PROCESS With 99.95 per cent efficiency, the ZeroSmog Guard under-bench fume extractor from Weller removes harmful substances from the air in a three-stage

filtration process: 1) Large particles are captured in the fine dust pre-filter. 2) A large-surface H13 HEPA filter removes fine dust. 3) A broadband gas filter (50 per cent activated carbon, 50 per cent potassium permanganate) in the ZeroSmog Guard and ZeroSmog Guard 2 neutralises chemical pollutants, vapours, and adhesives, converting them into harmless gases. The ZeroSmog Guard even effectively eliminates unpleasant odours. The purified air is then safely recirculated back into the workplace.

UNCOMPLICATED MAINTENANCE AND SAFE OPERATION

The ZeroSmog Guard product range is ESD-safe, protecting electronic devices and components from electrostatic discharges—harmless to humans but potentially damaging to sensitive equipment. The ZeroSmog Guard also features intelligent monitoring, automatically detecting when the filter needs replacing. This ensures the best conditions for a clean and safe working environment.

PRACTICAL ACCESSORIES AVAILABLE AS A BUNDLE

All three ZeroSmog Guard models from Weller come with one main filter and five pre-filters as standard. They are also available as bundled kits

with practical accessories via the Conrad Sourcing Platform: The ZeroSmog Guard Light Kit 1 ALFA includes a Ø 75-mm hose, ALFA nozzle, and table clamp. The ZeroSmog Guard Kit 1 ALFA also includes a shut-off valve. The ZeroSmog Guard 2 Kit 2 is designed for two workstations; this kit includes the required hoses and ALFA nozzles, along with bench-mounted hose valves, bench- mounted shut-off valves and WFV shut-off valves.

COMPATIBILITY WITH WT1M SOLDERING STATIONS

The stackable WT1M single-channel soldering stations from Weller (95W) are the perfect match for the ZeroSmog Guard product range – and not only because they offer versatile applications for soldering everything from nano components to micro components, along with a short heat-up phase and intuitive operation, but also because, when paired with WT1M soldering stations, the ZeroSmog Guard and ZeroSmog Guard 2 fume extractors automatically switch on as soon as the soldering iron is used. The four WT1M soldering stations are also available as a set, complete with various accessories.
