Made from thermo elastomer technology, the Smartflo hose is flat when not in use, but expands as water flows through it. This expandable material allows the hose to effectively remove kinks by itself as water passes through. It also minimises the amount of water left within the hose as it decompresses after use, removing the risk of leaks and internal damage. Hose accessories To complement the Smartflo hose, Westland has also launched a number of new watering accessories under its Flopro brand. These include a spray gun, connectors and sprinklers. The spray gun features an unusual design where instead of a trigger, it has a rear-mounted slider which controls the water flow rate. In use this takes a little getting used to, but does allow a more accurate flow control that locks into place. Several spray patterns are available, plus a single stream that provides quite a powerful
jet of water. We also tried the Flopro more traditional style of hose spray attachment that uses a twist style adjustment which also worked very smoothly and efficiently. These both work well with Flopro’s various hose connectors that proved to connect securely and were free of any leaks. The verdict… These latest Flopro hose accessories from Westland look great, feel nice to use and work really well. The blue colour certainly makes them stand out and the unique flow adjustment on the spray gun shows there is still innovation happening within this tried and tested product category. We really enjoyed using the new products and feel they make an interesting new addition that should attract the attention of consumers.
