IMS Heat Pumps relying on ESBE Valves for commercial contracts
W
hen renewable energy specialist IMS Heat Pumps was called upon by repeat client Cooper Construction to provide a fl exible heating system for Coventry-based Startin Tractors’ new
workshop and offi ces, the company chose to use ESBE valves for the project.
The customised package encompassed a pair of 50kW Clade air source heat pumps, delivering a 45oC fl ow temperature via underfl oor heating circuits set in the concrete fl oor slabs, with an ESBE CRC200 valve off ering very accurate, outside temperature compensated control. IMS Heat Pumps’ operations director, Lee Brown said: “The design was based on providing room conditions of 21oC in the offi ces, with the facility to heat the workshops to the same temperature, though some of the time they will be unheated.
The factory has a 50kW design load with the offi ces being just 40kW. The client also wanted to keep the system controls very straightforward, so we designed it so that the ESBE valve takes care of it. Essentially, the three separate heating zones are all weather compensated: with Magna 3 Grundfos pumps measuring the temperature diff erential and working with the ESBE valve to ensure we are directing the right level of heat energy to each area and guaranteeing substantial energy savings will be achieved across the year.”
“We have been buying from ESBE for 10 years or more now because of the high quality, the range of choice and the reliability. Plus, we get good technical support – in this instance we spoke to ESBE about the requirements and they specifi ed the CRC200 valve to match. It was exactly the solution we needed.”

Domus Ventilation expands energy effi cient axial fan range
D
omus Ventilation has added new models to its intermittent axial fan range: the DBF100 100mm (4”) fan and the DKF150 150mm (6”) fan. Both fan types are available in versions with timer control, and combined humidistat and timer control which identifi es and reacts to a signifi cant change in humidity. The DBF100 is also available with a pull cord control.
The new Domus Ventilation axial fans have been designed for high performance and energy effi ciency. The DKF150 provides extract volume rates up to 48.8 l/s, with the smaller DBF100 operating up to 18.6 l/s, ensuring compliance with Building Regulations Part F Ventilation. Even with these high extraction rates, the new fans operate with a low Specifi c Fan Power (SFP), down to 0.38W/l/s, saving energy and reducing operating costs. They are also quiet in operation, down to 34dB(A). As with all Domus Ventilation products, ease of installation has been a fundamental aspect of the product design. The new axial fans are compact so readily fi t into small spaces. They come with easy-to-follow installation instructions and fl exible mounting options, and compatible ducting kits are available to order.
Built with high-quality materials and durable components, the new fans are robust and provide long-lasting, reliable performance, whilst also being positioned at an extremely attractive price point, representing genuine value for money. They come with a two year warranty as standard.
