HVAC INITIATIVE OF THE YEAR
WINNER: The James Paget University Hospital project, CIAT
The pioneering integration of CIAT chillers and heat pumps at James Paget University Hospital impressed the HVR Awards judges because it expertly incorporates heat pumps for heating and hot water in a facility that has potential for higher energy uses due to 100% fresh air requirements requirements.
COLLABORATION OF THE YEAR
WINNER: Panasonic Heating and Cooling Solutions, Together Housing Group, Concept Heating and Graham
There has been a very strong collaboration from end-to-end on this project between all parties involved. According to the judges, it’s a good example of how existing dwellings can go through the very tricky transition phase to decarbonise, while keeping householders happy in the process.
NET ZERO HERO WINNER: GTC, Community Heat Hub

DISTRICT HEATING PROJECT OF THE YEAR
WINNER: Fairheat & Notting Hill Genesis
The HVR Awards judges said: “This project demonstrates that a detailed design approach can pay massive dividends when refurbishing a poorly performing heat network system. It was good to see data, that proved the system was now performing at extremely high levels, compared to the old system.”
RETROFIT PROJECT OF THE YEAR
WINNER: Finn Geotherm UK Ltd
The Diss Leisure Centre project is a major eff ort in which the company undertook extensive initial investigations and design works. This paid off , and on implementation has resulted in signifi cant energy saving and environmental benefi ts.

TRAINING PROVIDER OF THE YEAR
WINNER: Mitsubishi Electric
Mitsubishi came out as winners in a online poll in this award. The company has built on the work done to reformat and revamp training after the Covid pandemic, to develop new ways of introducing larger products to engineers. A virtual reality tool has proved particularly useful to help engineers.
