ADVECO

Commercial hot water and heating specialist Adveco, has announced its new AD range – new generation of sleekly designed, modulating commercial floor-standing gas condensing water heaters to be used with a buffer for high demand semi-instantaneous hot water applications in sports and leisure centres, hotels, spas, schools, stadia, and large commercial buildings.

Bill Sinclair, technical director, Adveco said: “The titanium-stabilised stainless-steel construction of the AD range’s heat exchangers is the perfect response to counter the concerns of corrosion in soft or softened water applications. Compact, lightweight yet still powerful, the AD’s patented space-saving design makes it equally applicable to both new projects or renovation work where a lack of space would traditionally stall or quickly drive up costs of a project.” With each water heater composed of one to four 70kW heat exchangers, the AD range offers appliances from 70kW up to 280kW.

CPA

CPA has engineered solutions that feature best in class products designed for industrial and commercial use - direct evaporative coolers with hybrid roof ventilation systems. Direct evaporative coolers introduce 100% fresh chilled air into a building whilst the hybrid roof ventilator extracts unwanted warmer stale air, achieving target air change rates with extremely low running costs. Additionally, the humidity control and extracted pollutants improve indoor air quality (IAQ). Improving control of air movement also decreases the risk of COVID-19 airborne transmission.

To further improve IAQ, consideration must be given to the cleanliness of the existing air conditioning system. CPA’s UVGI destroys the DNA & RNA of microorganisms implicated in the transmission of COVID-19; and makes sure the air is safe. Apart from providing clean fresh air, UVGI equipment can also be used as an effective way of cleaning surfaces.

CONDAIR

Condair has launched the Condair RM, a new low capacity resistive steam humidifier that can provide up to 8kg of steam to a duct. This level of output is suitable for applications like CRAC units in data centres, MRI suites in hospitals and high-end residential humidification. It is also good for offering zonal humidity control in branch ducts of buildings, like galleries or multi-occupancy offices.

The Condair RM reduces the cost of consumables, when compared to electrode boiler humidifiers, as it incorporates a boiling chamber that can be cleaned to remove lime scale, rather than needing disposable plastic cylinders. As the Condair RM has resistive heating elements it can operate on RO water, as well as a regular mains water supply. As RO water is virtually mineral-free, scale build-up is nearly eliminated, further improving the service efficiency of the unit. Resistive steam humidifiers use a submerged

heating element to create steam, allowing them to react faster and provide more accurate humidity control. www.condair.co.uk

GILBERTS

Gilberts Blackpool provided almost 2,630 ventilation grilles and diffusers to provide fresh air into the new Manchester Airport T2 extension. The choice of grilles and diffusers was influenced not only by the ventilation requirements but the specific aesthetics and security considerations too. Gilberts had to modify its DGA4 louvred face diffusers to accommodate the consistent aesthetic appearance demanded whilst removing any potential for concealment behind the units in the Border Force areas. Working closely with the ceiling manufacturer ensured all ceiling mounted grilles were flush mounted for a seamless and fully integrated appearance. The majority of Gilberts’ diffusers in the main passenger areas are its GSFA and GSJA swirl diffusers, whose radial vanes provide the rotating air distribution effect required to introduce high volumes of air with rapid entrainment and intermixing, without cold spots and draughts. These are complimented by DGC4 louvre faced ceiling diffusers for a clean horizontal air distribution in the public spaces, and GX extract valves to remove stale air from washrooms and toilets. www.gilbertsblackpool.com
