Going green is rewarding

T

he HVR Awards last month presented a perfect opportunity to acknowledge some of the best

achievements by HVAC firms this year. The challenge ahead for the industry in meeting all the Government’s decarbonisation targets is immense, so it was our pleasure to give credit where credit was due. In the past two years the COVID-19 pandemic and the drive to Net Zero have forced HVAC businesses to work differently, be more innovative, and develop new technologies. This period has, without doubt, pulled into sharp focus how we will heat and ventilate our buildings in the future. The release of the Heat and Buildings

Strategy and the COP26 Summit in Glasgow only reiterate the challenges that lie ahead, and serve as reminder for the industry of its role on the path to Net Zero. Multiple technologies are there to help

us move away from fossil fuels and most experts believe it will take a combination of these to get where we want to go. Let’s hope recent milestones are the start a greener future for HVAC. In the meantime, if you picked up a gong in the HVR Awards, then congratulations and keep up the excellent work.
