s in every other sphere of life, there’s only one topic of conversation on everyone lips the moment.
It’s no different in HVAC circles, whether it’s about how to help businesses and workers, or what HVAC firms can do to help in the battle against the devastating pandemic that is gripping the globe.
Trade bodies are holding daily briefings to give members vital information on how to cope in the crisis and warning about issues such as maintenance obiligations (pg 12) and the danger of legionella developing where buildings a shut down for long periods (pg 12 and 31).
On page 7, the latest news on how COVID-19 has impacted the industry is covered while pg 8 & 9 are dedicated to how HVAC firms have been innovating to develop PPE as well as vital medical equipment – everything from face shields to ventilators and even an entire mobile/modular intensive care unit.
Aside from the virus, HVAC does go on, and we have a number of features of interest to heating and ventilating engineers in this issue. These include the unique challenges related to Tall buildings; Hospitals & healthcare; Security; Air handling units and of course our HVRd supplement on domestic issues.
