Aspen’s quietly brilliant Silent+ Mini Lime Condensate Removal Pump

A

spen Pumps’ next generation of its Silent+ Mini Lime pump is an evolution in pump technology. Perfect for air conditioning applications where silence is important, such as offi ces and meeting rooms, the new and improved 5th generation Silent+ Mini Lime operates at only 16dB(A) making it the quietest and most versatile elbow pump available. Simple and fl exible to install, this technology delivers an impressive fl ow rate and lower power consumption than previous models. This new mini condensate removal pump off ers unrivalled performance, on-demand power, near-silent operation, optimum reliability, and increased energy effi ciency.

With sound levels a critical comfort and health and wellbeing issue for end-users, the new Silent+ Mini Lime off ers even quieter noise levels than previous models, with whisper-quiet operation. Since the Silent+ Mini Lime only pumps when needed, motor noise is reduced, as well as off ering cost and energy-saving benefi ts, in addition to a longer motor life. Utilising the same technology as the Silent+ Mini White, the new Silent+ Mini Lime features intelligent variable speed demand control with the pump dynamically adapting to its environment, reducing the fl ow to the minimum required, and using 10 times less energy than its predecessor. This is enabled by an innovative electronic fl oat switch that provides more precise control and improved reliability than mechanical alternatives and is ideal for integrating with digital control systems. www.aspenpumps.com

Nuaire’s CIBSE approved Passivhaus CPD

ndoor air quality and ventilation manufacturing specialist Nuaire has released a CIBSE approved CPD: An Introduction to Passivhaus. The CPD, which is aimed at the commercial market, focuses on the principles that

defi ne a Passivhaus and its ventilation criteria; the benefi ts of Passivhaus, especially in relation to net zero; along with a comprehensive understanding of the Passivhaus certifi cation process. The CPD can be delivered in-person or online by Nuaire ventilation experts who have completed certifi ed Passivhaus Tradesperson Training. With buildings contributing signifi cantly to harmful carbon emissions, Passivhaus provides proven solutions to deliver net-zero-ready buildings that also provide a high level of occupant health and wellbeing. Passivhaus adopts a whole-building approach with clear, measured targets, focused on high-quality construction, certifi ed through an exacting quality assurance process.

For a building to achieve the Passivhaus Standard in the UK, a mechanical ventilation system with highly effi cient heat recovery is typically required. Nuaire provides Passivhaus certifi ed Boxer Packages Solutions (BPS) air handling units and XBOXER XBC+ Passivhaus packaged heat recovery units. These products have been rigorously independently tested under realistic conditions to ensure they meet the strict Passivhaus effi ciency, thermal comfort, and indoor air quality criteria. For the most compact boiler cascade on the market, choose Stratton from Hamworthy

H

amworthy Heating include in their comprehensive product range the Stratton mk3 wall-hung condensing boiler. When installed on a Hamworthy low height frame and header kit, outputs from 40-70kW

off er the most compact cascade confi guration available on the market. Considerably smaller than other well-known manufacturers’ models, Stratton mk3 boilers feature a compact footprint, with models up to 70kW measuring only 487w x 577d x 764h. Moreover, when fi tted to a Hamworthy Heating low-height frame and header kit, Stratton mk3 boilers benefi t from a height of only 1474mm from the fl oor to the top of the boiler fl ue connection. These dimensions make a Stratton mk3 cascade the perfect solution for plantrooms where available height and footprint space is limited. Off ering a compact solution with outstanding effi ciency, installing a Stratton cascade also provides several benefi ts over using one large boiler. By allowing multiple boilers to work together for an effi cient and fl exible solution, a Stratton mk3 cascade also off ers added protection against breakdown and system failure. Suitable for new and retrofi t installations, Stratton mk3 wall-hung condensing boilers off er a 5:1 turndown ratio, excellent low-class 6 NOx emission across all models, and up to 97% gross seasonal effi ciency. Featuring a durable stainless steel heat exchanger for longevity, the boilers off er exceptional system tolerance and are backed by a fi ve-year heat exchanger warranty. www.hamworthy-heating.com

Funeral directors benefi t from Panasonic’s Advanced HVAC System

den’s, a large family run undertakers with seven sites across London and Kent, sought to transform their new site in West Wickham in Kent. This included the installation of a Panasonic low temperature heating and cooling system, utilising PACi NX Elite multi-split units, capable of cooling down to 8°C.

For their West Wickham site, the family sought an HVAC system to deliver

effi cient heating and cooling across diverse areas, including the reception, back offi ce, arrangement rooms, hallways, chapel of rest, and the preparation and visitors viewing spaces. Maintaining an ambient temperature of 8-10˚C was crucial for specifi c areas.

Panasonic collaborated with experienced HVAC installer, Ken Lockwood of FLR Spectron Ltd (FLR. The installation included fi ve Panasonic PACi split room air conditioning units, off ering optimal heating and cooling for the various spaces.

FLR specifi ed Panasonic’s energy-effi cient mix and match low-temperature refrigeration PACi NX Elite multi split units with nanoeTM X technology as the ideal solution for this project. These units provide high energy-savings, powerful performance, reliability, and consistent comfort throughout the space. The units off er a high quality and an effi cient solution for low-temperature applications for facilities such as mortuaries. These units are also ideal for wine cellars, food processing facilities and supermarkets. The Panasonic PACi NX series covers a wide range of capacities from 2.5 to 25kW.
