EVO S boiler range from ACV provides a flexible option
A
CV UK has introduced its new EVO S wall-hung boiler range, which incorporates the latest stainless steel heat exchanger technology for energy efficiency and reliability.
Available in seven different outputs from 40 to 150kW, EVO S features a 5:1 turndown ratio and excellent low-class 6 NOx emissions across all models.
Designed for straightforward installation and maintenance to help optimise performance, the EVO S range is lightweight for its class with a compact design, with the flexibility to wall mount or install into a prefabricated floor-mounted frame. For larger buildings or those with more complex layouts, optional low height frame and header kits offer cascade ability, up to 900kW (exceptions apply) and modulation up to 30:1. Where required, the EVO S is LPG convertible out of the box with no additional kits on all models up to and including 120kW. The EVO S has also been designed for ease of use, featuring a simple and intuitive control interface and a large backlit display, and integrated sequence control. Backed by a five-year parts and labour warranty, and fully compliant with Building Regulations Part L, this range of condensing boilers is approved for installation on multiple flue systems with all relevant components available to purchase.
To mark the arrival of the latest EVO S wall-hung boiler range, ACV UK has released its new ‘Evo S’ Product and Flue Guide.

Next-generation Hybrid Hydronic Unit meets unique requirements of hospitality
C
arrier has introduced IdroFan® 36XH, a next generation of high-efficiency, hybrid hydronic terminal unit designed for hotels and hospitality venues with intermittent occupancy. The new IdroFan 36XH is a hybrid hydronic terminal that can operate as a stand- alone unit to maintain stable, comfortable conditions for guests, while delivering energy- efficient operation, reduced running costs and flexibility for building owners. Connected to a
high-performance Carrier air handling unit, IdroFan 36XH provides enhanced indoor air quality by delivering filtered, conditioned fresh air to the space. To further enhance indoor air quality and occupant well-being, an optional integrated carbon dioxide sensor can be fitted to the terminal unit. The design of IdroFan 36XH combines the efficiency of air induction ventilation with the high heating and cooling capacity of a fan coil. The hydronic hybrid terminal range includes three unit sizes, all available in two-pipe or four-pipe configurations, in capacities up to 8.79kW heating and 4.7kW cooling. It features three operating modes, Eco/Quiet, Comfort/Quiet and Active Fan/Boost, to address the different requirements of intermittently occupied rooms, ensuring comfortable conditions at all times for guests and minimising operating costs.
The Eco/Quiet and Comfort/Quiet modes enable prioritisation of lower operating costs or comfort, with conditioned fresh air supplied via the terminal by a remote air handling unit, ensuring quiet in-room performance.

Lochinvar goes for heat pump power
ow carbon heating and hot water equipment manufacturer Lochinvar has launched the UK’s “most powerful heat pump water heater”. The Amicus Aquastore has an output of 8kW and 455 litres of hot water storage capacity in a compact monobloc package combining heat pump and storage vessel. It can deliver up to 65˚C hot water in both efficiency and hybrid modes and up to 490 litres in a peak hour with a 50°C temperature rise.
The new product is aimed at the burgeoning low carbon replacement market for gas-fired water heaters in commercial buildings and is designed to minimise disruption by avoiding the need for wholesale changes to existing heating and hot water systems. Its space saving monobloc construction means it is easy to manoeuvre into position and offers plenty of options for positioning – another important consideration for replacement projects. It is also a straightforward ‘plug and play’ process to set up and commission. “Water heater replacements are often distress purchases, which means the end user needs something relatively easy and quick to install,” said Lochinvar’s heat pump technology manager James Cooper.
“The beauty of the Amicus Aquastore is that we can offer that quick response but also provide a solution that dramatically reduces the customer’s energy usage and carbon footprint without the need for a more complex, disruptive and expensive installation.”

Riello Introduces CONDEXA HPR Wall-Hung Modular Condensing Boiler
R
iello launched the CONDEXA HPR unit, a new wall-hung modular condensing boiler, developed to allow dimensional compactness and installation flexibility for very high energy efficiency. The stand-alone or cascade configurability, and the high-power modulation ratio (1:8 as stand-alone; 1:32 in cascade) allow CONDEXA HPR to adapt to large variations in system heat demand, making it suitable for a wide variety of applications, from residential units to data centres, schools, commercial buildings or industrial plants. Thanks to its intrinsic characteristics and the wide range of optional accessories, the CONDEXA HPR allows designers and installers to meet the most diverse requirements of construction engineering, both in new buildings and in the replacement of old heating plants. Riello is able to meet the technical and regulatory specifications of the heating sector, thanks to the high performance achieved in all areas, with high efficiency and low emissions into the atmosphere. The range consists of four models from 35 to 70 kW, all equipped with a modulating circulator enabling a variable flow rate according to the flow and return temperatures, to allow operation in maximum condensation conditions. The new combustion modules, housed within the CONDEXA HPR, are equipped with a stainless-steel heat exchanger and premixed burners, fitted with a wire mesh combustion head and air-gas mixer, and allow a wide modulation range, silent operation and reduced pollutant emissions.
