Clivet strengthens service division with new appointment

C

livet Group UK has welcomed Laith Al Baghdadi to the company’s growing service division.

A graduate of the University of Portsmouth with a background in Human Geography, alongside studies at the University of Malta, Laith brings valuable experience across engineering support, logistics coordination, and customer service. Previous roles within major insurance organisations and public

sector contractors have equipped him with strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

As Clivet continues to expand across the UK HVAC and heat pump market, the company remains fi rmly committed to delivering outstanding aftersales service and technical support. Investment into the service division refl ects the importance Clivet places on supporting customers and installers throughout every stage of a project — from commissioning and technical assistance through to ongoing customer care. Laith’s appointment further strengthens the team as Clivet continues to invest in both people and support infrastructure to meet growing demand across the industry.

The Clivet team extends a warm welcome to Laith, who is already proving to be a fantastic addition to the team. www.clivetgroup.co.uk

First 9-in-1 heat pump transforms load into an energy hub

iff er Power and Tesla veteran Drew Baglino’s Sadi are treating the heat pump as the home’s energy core by pairing AI data center cooling with automotive-grade thermal tech.

Diff er Power will introduce its D1 Series at Intersolar Europe 2026 in Munich, positioning the residential heat pump as a power management hub rather than only a heating and cooling appliance. The D1 Series is described as the world’s fi rst 9-in-1 integrated solar-storage air-to-water heat pump system, combining space heating, cooling, domestic hot water, PV inversion, battery management, PCS, backup power, home energy management, and gateway control into one platform. It uses the low-GWP refrigerant R290 and is designed for European residential heating, cooling, and domestic hot water, including new-build homes, retrofi t projects, and properties with existing or planned rooftop PV.

Conventionally one of the largest electrical loads in an electrifi ed home, the heat pump here becomes the point where rooftop PV, battery storage, thermal demand, backup power, and household supply are coordinated. Rather than installing a separate heat pump, solar inverter, battery controller, and energy manager side by side, the D1 Series brings these functions into a single platform. The integrated hybrid solar inverter handles PV inversion and battery charge and discharge, works with stackable externally connected battery storage and can also recover waste heat from its power electronics to raise the heat pump’s COP. A single app brings the thermal and electrical sides of the system together as a single interface for setup, operation, monitoring, and maintenance. Contact info@diff erpower.com

Diff usion’s new Ultra-Line 360 addresses exposed ceiling design challenges

D

iff usion has launched the new Ultra-Line 360 fan coil unit (patent pending), developed specifi cally for exposed-ceiling applications. Designed and manufactured in the UK, the Ultra-Line 360 combines the proven performance of Diff usion’s award-winning Highline Modular Fan Coil technology with a unique diff user and integrated plenum system engineered to deliver high-performance heating and cooling while complementing contemporary architectural aesthetics.

A key feature of the Ultra-Line 360 is its use of the Coandã eff ect. Through a bespoke diff user designed and manufactured in-house by Diff usion, conditioned air remains close to the ceiling surface before gradually mixing into the occupied space. This enables air to be distributed eff ectively over longer distances without requiring higher airfl ow rates or additional energy consumption.

The result is true 360-degree air distribution, helping minimise draughts, reduce hot and cold spots and prevent cold-air dumping, while providing enhanced thermal comfort for occupants. Importantly, the Ultra- Line 360 has been designed to eliminate the need for ductwork, and separately specifi ed diff users, plenums and grilles. By integrating all core components into a single unit, installation is simplifi ed, fewer trades are required on-site and coordination between diff erent contractors can be signifi cantly reduced.

To give specifi ers a closer look at the engineering technology behind the Ultra-Line 360 and its wider fan coil range, Diff usion hosts regular Open Days at its UK manufacturing facility. www.diff usion-group.com

Trianco’s Activair indoor heat pumps are installed in housing association properties in Argyll

H

eat pump specialist, Trianco, has supplied Activair indoor air source heat pumps for a £100,000 development programme in Scotland in partnership with principal contractor, the Procast Group.

It is hoped that the new installations, which are far more compact than a typical air source heat pump, which sits outside of a property, should improve energy effi ciency, provide tenants with savings and lead to better insulated homes, as well as being better for the planet. These heat pumps fi t into the kitchen just like an additional boiler would.

Mr Beighton said: “Our innovative Activair Indoor Heat Pumps are ideal for apartments and properties without the space outside for a traditional heat pump or where planning rules would restrict an outdoor unit. The heat pump is connected to outside with two air ducts, one to draw air in and the other to expel the air. This project is really exciting for us and will hopefully lead to further projects partnering with Procast”.

The Activair units are available in 5 or 7kw outputs and can be purchased as a solo heat pump (which can be connected to a third party cylinder for hot water) or as either a vertical or horizontal confi guration with combined heat pump and domestic hot water cylinder. There are also fl exible ducting options using either rectangular or circular ducting which can be connected to either the left, right or rear of the heat pump. https://trianco.co.uk/
