Samsung Climate Solutions launches latest heating and cooling solution, HVM R32
S
amsung Climate Solutions has launched its new heating and cooling
solution for smaller commercial refurbishments, the HVM R32. Samsung’s latest modular chiller uses R32 refrigerant with a lower Global Warming Potential (GWP), which, combined with the HVM’s water-
based system that eliminates the need for refrigerant inside a building, creates a safer and lower carbon environment inside the building. Designed with consultants in mind, the HVM R32 is a compact, easy-to-install unit which offers reliable, consistent performance. The integration of flash injection technology enables effective heating in outdoor temperatures as low as -25°C, making it an ideal solution for colder climates.
The HVM R32 features a small footprint of 1.38m² and is relatively lightweight (433kg/955 lbs), making it easy to transport on a one-ton truck, move using a handle forklift and lift into a cargo elevator before being installed in small spaces or on rooftops. Its compact nature is designed to help consultants and installers overcome challenges associated with smaller roof tops and plant room footprints, offering greater design flexibility.
The system can control one or more outdoor units to provide cooling and heating across different zones in smaller commercial environments. It can also be seamlessly connected to a wide range of indoor Samsung units including the WindFree™ 4-Way Cassette, 360 Cassette and Concealed options to offer a fully integrated system.

ACV UK expands CIBSE-approved CPD portfolio with new module on commercial DHW systems
A
CV UK has expanded its CIBSE-approved CPD portfolio with the launch of a new module: “What You Need to Know – Commercial DHW Systems Now and for the Future”. Designed for building services professionals, the new CPD helps consultants,
specifiers and contractors navigate the fast-moving landscape of domestic hot water (DHW) system design in commercial buildings. With the need to comply with updated regulations and improve system efficiency, the new CPD explores how market demands are shifting and what that means for modern DHW system specification. It also covers key drivers such as changes to Part L, the expanding range of available technologies and how to approach system design in a way that balances carbon reduction, reliability and cost. Participants will also gain insights into demand profiling, system sizing, hybrid strategies and practical considerations such as site constraints and long-term operational performance.
Designed for professionals involved in new build projects, plant room upgrades, or refurbishment work, the session provides a clear, practical overview of both the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of commercial DHW. To suit busy working schedules, the CPD lasts 45–60 minutes and can be delivered in person, online, or at ACV’s Expert Academy Training Centres.

Nuaire switches to 100% recycled plastic in Drimaster-Eco Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) systems
T
he UK’s first Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) system, the Drimaster from Nuaire, has evolved once more! As from October 2025, the Drimaster-Eco has swapped its casing from a virgin ABS plastic to a recycled plastic. The switch will result in a reduction of 167 tons of equivalent embodied carbon over the period of a year.
PIV technology was invented by Nuaire in 1972 and was recognised as a groundbreaking, highly effective cure for condensation dampness and its associated problems – including harmful black mould - within residential properties. PIV systems draw fresh air present in the loft space, filter that air, then gently disperse it into the home via a central diffuser at a continuous rate. This creates a positive pressure within the home that forces stale, damp air and pollutants out through the natural leakage gaps found in every UK property, both old and new.
Tried and tested, Drimaster PIV units are installed in over a million homes in the UK and are particularly popular with social housing providers due to their cost-effectiveness, speedy install (Drimaster-Eco can be installed in a loft in less than an hour), longevity (many Nuaire Drimaster PIVs have been in operation for over 20 years), and non-disruptive nature for residents. Moving from the virgin ABS plastic to 100% recycled plastic will not
impact the quality of the Nuaire Drimaster-Eco PIV units, although customers will notice a change in colour from the blue plastic to black.
