ADVECO

Adveco, the hot water specialists for commercial projects, has announced its ranges of ADplus and AD condensing gas water heaters, and MD gas boilers are all hydrogen 20% blend ready without modification. The latest generation of appliances from Adveco deliver advanced burner technology and rugged titanium stainless steel construction of the heat exchangers that ensure optimal operation and longevity with ultra-low carbon and nitrogen oxide emissions. For models with multiple heat exchangers, smart balancing helps reduce operational costs, further extends the life of the appliance, and provides built-in redundancy to ensure there is no downtime for business-critical demands of domestic hot water (DHW). This ensures Adveco’s ADplus, AD and MD will continue to operate well into the 2030s while delivering on the desire to decarbonise cost-effectively as hydrogen blending becomes commonplace. Adveco’s technology provides a practical, future-proof choice with a clear path to the adoption of future generations of proven 100% hydrogen appliances as the gas network matures. www.adveco.co

S&P

Leading ventilation manufacturer S&P UK has launched Mellizo, the quietest and most efficient twin fan it has ever made following years of research and development.

Designed for environments including bathrooms and changing rooms, Mellizo benefits from optimal efficiency, an innovative design, and the lowest Specific Fan Power possible. Spanish for ‘twin’ to reflect S&P Group’s heritage, Mellizo’s twin fan design provides uninterrupted ventilation and saves energy in line with Building Regulations.

Sales Director Lee Page said: “We’ve channelled our collective S&P expertise to create Mellizo – an unrivalled twin fan that we believe cannot be beaten on noise, efficiency or value. Mellizo is versatile, eco-friendly, efficient, and extremely quiet.”

Mellizo is designed for simple indoor and external installation with horizontal or vertical mounting.

S&P UK Ventilation Systems is the UK subsidiary of Soler and Palau.

BAPI

BAPI’s Award-Winning PM Sensor is now available in a duct unit enabling you to cover a much wider area with the use of only one sensor. Various sensor locations can be utilised to achieve improved Indoor Air Quality (IAQ). Install the duct PM sensor on the supply air, to check the air quality before entering the Air Handling Unit.

Install a duct PM sensor after the AHU filters to ensure the best possible air quality is being achieved. Lastly install an additional sensor in the return air to see if the recirculating air is within the chosen PM range. Features:

• Field selectable; particulate size and output • Rugged IP66-rated enclosure • Aspiration tube adjusts for vertical or horizontal airflow • Helps you measure the effectiveness of your filters • Assists with allergen reduction while freeing up wall space

TOSHIBA

Toshiba Air Conditioning has extended its Digital Inverter (DI) air conditioning series with the introduction of the new DI Classic range, also on lower Global Warming Potential R-32 refrigerant. Available in capacities from 2 to 6 HP, the compact DI Classic offers outstanding size-to-efficiency ratio, and cost-effective cooling and heating for homes and small workspaces. The new range joins the established R-32 based Digital Inverter and Super Digital Inverter (SDI) series as an entry-level option, giving a comprehensive offering across all price points, technical features and performance levels. “We launched the first ground-breaking DI system nearly 20 years ago, and have constantly updated the technology ever since, establishing a reputation as a leader in this key segment for reliable, high-performance products,” said David McSherry, Head of Toshiba Carrier DX, Residential and Light Commercial UK.

“The DI Classic benefits from this technical heritage and features an economical one-fan chassis design that delivers excellent performance in even highly restricted spaces.”

CIAT

As UK decarbonisation gathers momentum, CIAT UK is collaborating with consultants and distribution partners in a pioneering approach to help schools transition to low-carbon heating technologies as part of a planned, phased strategy.

The project follows Carrier’s recent successful Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS) projects for more than 60 schools in London, the Midlands and Yorkshire. The phased approach is working at Kepier School in North East England, which installed seven new gas boilers three years ago. A long-term decarbonisation plan was developed for the school, with funding under the Condition Improvement Fund (CIF). “The key is to upgrade heat emitting systems, so the move to low-carbon heat pumps can be made seamlessly when the time comes to replace end-of-life gas-boilers,” said Rob Smelt of BReng Hull. “This ensures valuable capital is used to maximum effect, while moving towards Net Zero on a planned time track with future-ready infrastructure in place.’

UNITHERM

Exeter-based Unitherm Heating Systems has been working alongside Truro-based Verto Homes on their new homes development at Falmouth Golf course in Cornwall. Unitherm provided Vaillant air source heat pumps that will provide these zero carbon homes with the heating and hot water they need in an environmentally friendly way.

Each of the new homes offers smart home control systems. In addition, they come with solar PV panels on the roof that will help with electricity costs in these difficult times.

Unitherm recommended Vaillant aroTHERM plus range of air to water heat pumps. Using a natural refrigerant in R290, this gives a low Global Warming Potential (GWP) rating of only 3. There are a number of other welcome features with the aroTHERM plus range such as the water flow temperature can reach up to 75°C. This helps with the production of hot water without the need for an immersion heater for protection against legionella. www.unitherm.co.uk
