Fedrigoni signs two new strategic deals
The Fedrigoni Group has entered into two new strategic agreements, which aim to strengthen its presence in the Asian market and reinforce its research, development and innovation capabilities in RFID, printed electronics, and advanced research on paper substrates. Fedrigoni has agreed a
manufacturing partnership with a specialty paper mill, producer of translucent papers in Quzhou, Zhejiang in China. The acquisition of a dedicated research and development centre in Grenoble,
France, will allow Fedrigoni to boost its product innovation roadmap. Both busineses were formerly part of the Arjowiggins Group, which filed for administration last September. With 130 employees and an annual production capacity of 7,000 tonnes, the Quzhou mill is a world-leading manufacturer of translucent papers, which is sold under the Gateway, Idem and Sylvic brands, for applications ranging from industrial design and graphic applications to packaging for food, consumer electronics and luxury products. Besides strengthening its geographical footprint in Asia, Fedrigoni said this
transaction will lead the company to further expand its product portfolio in the translucent papers segment by acquiring manufacturing capabilities. Fedrigoni said the acquisition of the dedicated R&D centre in Grenoble, with its people, equipment, patents, and brands, including the Powercoat brand, will enhance its capabilities in testing and prototyping RFID, printed electronics, and advanced research on paper substrates.

Innovia Films unveils ‘Better Future’ campaign
Innovia Films has launched its new communication campaign ‘Better Future’, which it said underpins its role in creating sustainable and recyclable materials. Simon Huber, managing director of
Innovia Films Europe, said the development of sustainable packaging solutions and the implementation on a larger scale is in full swing. “We have many exciting new developments
to offer for applications such as polypropylene film for mono-material
pouches and also polyolefin films that are used for low density shrink sleeves that automatically detach from PET bottles and float in the recycling process,” Mr Huber said. “All of these examples illustrate how we see a
better future for packaging without risking food waste.” The ‘Better Future’ campaign is being rolled out globally within the next weeks and months and will
be the centre piece of communication activities from Innovia Films.
