Cutting systems: multi-function rubber cutter, sample maker and plotter

odern die-making increasingly relies on single systems that combine multiple processes within one workfl ow.
A key advantage of this type of system is
workfl ow effi ciency. Compatibility with standard CAD software enables direct transfer from digital design to physical output, reducing manual intervention and the risk of errors.
Material handling is another important factor. Vacuum bed systems with zoned control provide stable holding across diff erent substrates, which supports accurate plotting and cutting. This is particularly relevant when working with varied materials such as carton board, corrugated board and rubber of diff erent thicknesses.
Multi-tool heads also contribute to fl exibility. By combining tools such as knives, creasing wheels and plotting pens in one unit, these systems can handle multiple stages of production—cutting, creasing and drawing—without requiring separate machines. This reduces setup time and simplifi es operation.
In sample making, adjustable pressure control allows operators to fi ne-tune performance depending on the material. This helps achieve cleaner cuts and more accurate creases, which is important for prototyping and short runs. Integrated machines tend to reduce fl oor space requirements, minimise handling steps and lower maintenance demands. They also support faster turnaround times by eliminating the need
to transfer work between diff erent pieces of equipment.
Overall, the shift towards multi-functional cutting and plotting systems refl ects a broader trend in die-making: improving precision and repeatability while simplifying production workfl ows.
