SOFTWARE & TELEMETRY
Connectivity of coffee machines
Manufacturer expands telemetry services across vending and coffee machine estate
E
voca has announced the UK availability of its telemetry services across its vending and professional coffee machine portfolio, giving operators access to remote monitoring,
machine data and software management tools. The company says Televend technology is embedded in most
of its machine range and is compatible with Necta and Gaggia machines. The system provides operators with real-time data, including stock levels on snack vending machines and sales information across their machine estate. Evoca has also highlighted its proprietary AmiClo software, which enables operators to remotely transmit and retrieve settings from connected machines via a web-based portal. On Gaggia professional coffee machines, AmiClo provides
remote access to a range of functions, including software updates, recipe changes, beverage icons and logos. Operators can also retrieve machine events, faults and logs, as well as reboot machines remotely. According to Andrew Barrow, managing director of Evoca UK, the system can also be used to manage digital content across individual machines or an entire estate. “Screensavers can be used for branding or for advertising, helping operators increase revenue while decreasing the costs associated with engineer site visits,” he says. AmiClo can also be used to push software updates to Gaggia machines. Updates can be accepted at the machine by an authorised person or during an engineer’s next visit. Evoca says this approach can reduce the need for engineers
to travel to sites for routine software and configuration changes, while helping operators maintain consistent software across their machine estate. Connectivity to Televend is provided through an embedded or optional Televend box, depending on the machine model. AmiClo can be accessed through embedded Wi-Fi or an optional 4G modem where connection to a site’s Wi-Fi network is restricted. Evoca says the UK launch represents an expansion of its telemetry offering across both vending and coffee machines, with the technology intended to give operators greater visibility and remote control over their estates.

that adds to real value As the vending industry continues to evolve, connectivity is no longer a luxury but an essential part of efficient machine management. Operators are expected to deliver maximum uptime, respond quickly to customer needs and manage growing machine fleets while keeping costs under control. This is where modern vending software and telemetry solutions
are making a significant difference. For example, ConnectMe, the connectivity platform developed by de Jong DUKE, demonstrates how remote machine management can help operators work smarter and provide better user experience. One of the key benefits of connected vending equipment is access to real-time machine data. Through a cloud-based platform, operators can monitor the status of every connected coffee machine remotely, gaining insight into usage patterns, machine performance and potential issues before they become critical. This visibility enables faster decision-making and reduces the need for reactive service interventions. Preventive maintenance is another area
where telemetry delivers clear advantages. By receiving notifications about machine status and performance, operators can schedule maintenance during quieter periods and address potential issues before they result in downtime. This helps maintain a high level of machine availability while minimising disruptions for customers and end users. Connectivity also allows many operational tasks to be carried
out remotely. Adjusting drink recipes, updating beverage presentations or checking machine settings can all be done without visiting the location. As a result, operators save time, reduce travel costs and improve overall service efficiency. Fewer site visits also contribute to sustainability goals by lowering transport-related emissions. Beyond operational benefits, connected machines are
increasingly becoming communication tools. With ConnectMe, operators can upload videos, images and messages directly to coffee machines, transforming them into touchpoints for internal communication, promotions or customer engagement. This adds an extra layer of value that goes beyond the traditional role of a vending or coffee machine. As the market continues to focus on efficiency, sustainability and customer satisfaction, software and telemetry solutions will play an even greater role in daily operations. The ability to monitor, manage and optimise machines remotely allows operators to reduce costs while delivering more reliable experience for customers. Ultimately, connectivity is helping the industry move from reactive machine management to a more proactive and data- driven approach, creating benefits for operators, end users and businesses alike.
