Ultima revolutionises oil-free compressor market G
ardner Denver announces Ultima, a revolutionary new, water-cooled oil-free compressor from its CompAir brand, offering up to 12 per
cent improved energy efficiency compared to a conventional two-stage machine with a 37 per cent smaller footprint. Launched as part of the company’s CompAir PureAir range, Ultima is

he third of Fluke’s series of free, scheduled, CPD- accredited webinars, running throughout 2107, is titled
‘Energy Saving – A Practical Approach to Energy Efficiency’ and is suitable for Facility Managers, Energy Managers, and Electrical Engineers. Other topics covered by the CPD- certified webinar series include ‘Detecting Electrical Energy Loss Using Thermal Imaging’ and ‘Power Quality – The Good, The Bad and How to Measure’, which are also aimed at personnel including Electrical Engineers, Plant Maintenance Facility Managers, Energy Managers, Electricians and Electrical Contractors. The ‘Energy Saving – A Practical Approach to Energy
Efficiency’ webinars focus on the various approaches to the topic of Energy Saving. They show what can be done on-site in order to assess energy consumption and find the ‘low hanging fruit’ that give immediate reductions in energy consumption.

available in models from 75 kW to 160 kW and is designed for best in class performance, for applications that demand the highest levels of air quality and purity. With a noise level of only 69 dB(A), Ultima is extremely quiet, meaning that it can be installed easily at the point of use, rather than housed in a separate compressor room. Ultima uses approximately 20 per cent less parts than a standard
oil-free compressor, helping to reduce maintenance requirements and compressor reliability.

Fast-acting flowmeters C
Measure flow and temperature with ifm’s SBY
ritical systems need to know quickly if there is a change in a flow rate. Flow of water, glycol solutions, coolants, oils (depending on
viscosity) can be measured by the SBY series flowmeters with a response to flow rates changes in less than 10 msec. Depending on the device chosen, the measured flow rate can be
as low as 0.3 l/m or as high as 200 l/m, while temperature is always monitored between -10 and 100 degrees C. The two outputs provide a selection of different values, chosen by the user. These include switched or frequency outputs for flow or temperature on one output, with either analogue flow or temperature on the other.
The SBY is simple to install with standard pipe connections, needing no minimum pipe length, and the display head will rotate for visibility in the desired direction.

020 8213-0000 Pump Ink with Verderflex T
he Verderflex® Rapide is a range of industrial tube pumps that provide a balanced selection of simple to operate peristaltic pumps. The family offers the customers, choices
that are compact, simple to use and require no tools during the tube change. The range has been developed to offer reliable and cost effective pumping solutions for industrial applications. Standard designs incorporate rugged aluminium pump heads with “thick- walled” tubing for increased suction lift and IP55 gear motors with both single and three phase options. The Verderflex® Rapide is an excellent, low flow dosing pump capable of handling viscous, abrasive and chemically aggressive media with total containment and leak free pumping.
In a printing process, where pumps are used to deliver inks to its printers, the pumps
use considerable amount of compressed air and require constant maintenance due to the wearable parts like seals and valves.
This could result in high repair and maintenance costs and higher and frequent down-
times. In addition to this, these pumps are required to deliver shear sensitive inks to the printers without foaming or separation.
After assessing the situation, a Verderflex R8 Peristaltic Hose pump was
recommended. With a flow rate between 170 l/hr and 470 l/hr at 2Bar, the low maintenance Verderflex R8 was perfect for this application. This pump enables the customer to save both cost and time by having high dependability and only one wearing part – the hose. With a simple clamping mechanism
Advantages of the Rapide Tube Pump:
• Compact and easy to use • Can be integrated into third party equipment such as printing presses • Designed for industrial environments including chemical, mining, printing and water treatment
• Can be used with variable frequency drives (VFDs) • enabling hose change, the pumps are easy to maintain on-site, without requiring specialist repairs. There are no seals or valves to replace, nor impellers that can become clogged.
Verderflex’s happy customers claim that Verderflex R8 is a “great pump and very
reliable”. In addition to the benefits described above, customers were delighted that Verderflex® pumps also save money on ink during setup/cleaning between jobs by being reversible. They simply pump any unused ink back into the supply after the print job is finished.
All SBY versions are IO-Link enabled for simple setting and
