Switchtec unveils new range of SCL Busbar Chambers


Switchtec’s comprehensive new range of Busbar Chambers is designed for reliable and scalable power distribution.


M


eeting the needs of contractors, panel builders and OEMs across a wide spectrum of industrial and commercial environments, the SCL range is available in four standard enclosure sizes—600mm, 900mm, 1200mm and 1800mm— allowing for greater flexibility in design and installation. Whether space is limited or extended busbar runs are required, installers can select the most appropriate size for their application, streamlining installation while maintaining compliance and safety. Each chamber is fitted with both top and bottom gland plates as standard, offering multiple cable entry options and enabling faster, cleaner cable termination on-site. This dual-entry system provides added convenience for installers and supports a wide range of system configurations.


Inside the chambers, high-conductivity copper busbars ensure reliable electrical performance with minimal power loss. The robust steel enclosures are built to withstand harsh environments, providing protection against mechanical damage and ensuring the longevity of the installation. Crucially, the SCL Busbar Chamber range has been designed and manufactured to meet the BS EN 61439-1 standard, offering reassurance of compliance with UK and international electrical safety regulations. A full range of compatible busbar clamps is also available, making it easier to
