Climate concerns A
new survey from UN-backed non-profi t initiative SME Climate Hub has concluded that small to medium-sized businesses need much more help with their Net Zero ambitions. The survey indicates that half of SMEs calculate emissions, and 60% have plans to reduce carbon impact - but two-thirds of small business owners are worried they don’t have the right skills and knowledge to tackle the climate crisis. Sustainability is the word on everyone’s lips, but it’s a broad issue that encompasses every aspect of a business’s operation. Practical advice on how to implement real change that will make a real diff erence is short on the ground.
Companies simply paying lip-service to the concept of sustainability, without making any real change, is a growing problem. You can read about the legal and reputational repercussions of so-called ‘greenwashing’ on page 26.
