JTL National Apprentice Awards Winners Announced L
eading apprenticeship provider JTL has named Edward Barber, Dammy Ajibade and Chris Lintern as the winners of its National Apprentice Awards, which took place at the British Motor Museum in Warwickshire on 13 June.
JTL’s National Awards scheme assesses each nominee against four key elements which make up the apprenticeship framework: their practical work onsite, theoretical knowledge, key skills and industrial test scores. Yeovil-based Chris, who completed his apprenticeship at Spectrum Electrical Group,
was named the winner of the JTL National Apprentice of the Year Award for 2024. London-based Dammy, who completed his apprenticeship while working for T Clarke, and Sutton Coldfi eld-based Edward, who works for Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council, were named the national winners of the Paul McNaughton National Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Services (MES) Apprentice of the Year awards respectively. Chris Claydon, chief executive at JTL, said: “Our National Awards celebrate the hard work and achievements of our apprentices
throughout their qualifi cation, along with the dedication of those who have supported them, such as our Training Offi cers and the employers we partner with.”
Sales team expansion for Ansell Lighting A
nsell Lighting has appointed three new area sales managers to look aſt er the North, South East and Midlands regions, boosting the sales team to 36. Tom Preece, who will be looking after the Midlands, has more than a decade of experience in the industry, working his way up from Graduate Trainee to work in a range of roles including both internal and external sales at a leading electrical wholesaler chain in Stoke,
where he built a varied customer base. Callum Tymon, who will be working with Ansell customers across the north of England, has spent the majority of his career in electrical wholesaling, most recently in Preston. Finally, Greg Faulkner joins Ansell as ASM for the south-east, having spent more than 16 years working in the industry for lighting manufacturers, including ASM and national account manager roles.
