Consort Equipment Products acquired by investment fi rm C


onsort Equipment Products, a leading UK manufacturer of electric heaters, has been acquired by family-owned investment fi rm Lifeboat Capital in a deal backed by a seven-fi gure debt funding package from Frontier Development Capital (FDC) and other investors.


Consort, which is based in Milford Haven,


supplies heaters to electrical wholesalers nationwide under the Consort and Claudgen brands, and manufactures own-brand products for leading suppliers. Following the acquisition, the current management team headed by managing director Gareth Davies will continue to lead the growth of the business.

In this newly-enhanced leadership role, Paul will focus on ensuring the IBA continues to strengthen its position as the natural home for independent electrical wholesalers. His remit includes driving member value, deepening supplier partnerships and shaping the next phase of the group’s commercial evolution. A key part of this work will be the continued development of IBA+, the optional suite of extended member services that allows wholesalers to tailor additional support to their individual needs. Paul brings more than two decades of experience in the electrical wholesale industry, having held senior roles at Edmundson Electrical, CEF and Rexel since joining the sector in 2001.


New appointment to Recolight board of directors R


ecolight has appointed a new director, Cameron Wilson, who will represent Signify on the Recolight board. Cameron has been with Signify for over 25 years and is the customer resolution manager for UK and Ireland.


Cameron said: “I’m delighted to join the Recolight Board, taking over from my colleague Steve Meadows. I’m a champion of Recolight’s Circular Economy


activity, and all they do to raise the profi le of the need for action on sustainability in the lighting industry.”


Cameron joins as a non-executive director representing Recolight’s founding members along with board chair Andreas Adam, senior director at Ledvance, Andrew Clark, fi nancial controller at Feilo Sylvania UK and Steven Reed, commercial manager at Trilux.
