Instrumentation & Electronics Awards

Time is running out to enter the 2026 Instrumentation & Electronics Awards

With the 30th June deadline approaching, industry professionals are being encouraged to submit their entries for the 2026 Instrumentation & Electronics Awards while there is still time

O

rganised by Datateam Business Media, the Instrumentation & Electronics Awards programme remains one of the sector’s

most established opportunities to highlight engineering achievement, technical innovation and the real-world impact of modern industrial technologies. Following the success of last year’s combined format, which unified the Instrumentation Excellence Awards and the Electronics Industry Awards, the 2026 edition continues to build on that momentum. The event has become a focal point for organisations working across instrumentation, electronics and industrial technology, reflecting the increasing convergence of these fields and the shared challenges they face. Categories have been shaped to mirror the direction of the market, recognising both mature engineering disciplines and the emerging technologies advancing industrial systems.

The awards are sponsored by Emerson, Microchip, Napier and Vision Engineering, and remain open to manufacturers, suppliers, integrators and end users. Entrants are encouraged to demonstrate not only technical capability but also measurable improvements in performance, efficiency, safety or reliability. From component-level innovation to complex system-level integration, the programme is designed to capture the full spectrum of activity across the sector.

New categories

A significant update for 2026 is the introduction of three new categories, each reflecting a clear shift in industry priorities. Industrial AI Product of the Year acknowledges the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence in operational environments. As AI becomes central to predictive maintenance, process optimisation and advanced data analysis, this category will highlight solutions that deliver quantifiable operational benefits. Another addition is Passive Component / Electromechanical Product of the Year. Underpinning the performance and reliability of modern electronic systems, passive

and electromechanical components can significantly influence energy efficiency, thermal stability and long-term durability, particularly in demanding industrial environments. This category aims to draw attention to the engineering expertise driving progress in these foundational technologies. The third new category, the Academic Support & Training Award, reflects the sector’s ongoing focus on skills development. As demand for engineering talent continues to rise, initiatives that strengthen collaboration between industry and academia are becoming increasingly important. This award will recognise organisations and programmes that are helping to develop the next generation of engineers and technical specialists. Alongside these additions, the programme continues to recognise excellence across established Product Awards including power electronics, semiconductors and test and measurement. The Business Awards will also recognise the support functions that play a critical role in bringing new technologies to market, including distribution, customer service and technical communication.

The Individual Awards, meanwhile, will celebrate engineers and innovators whose work is driving progress across the sector. Entries will be assessed on both innovation and demonstrable impact, with strong submissions expected to provide clear evidence of performance improvements or operational benefits.

Why enter?

For companies, being shortlisted or winning can offer meaningful visibility within a highly targeted audience. Recognition from an independent judging panel can support brand positioning, strengthen marketing activity and validate technical capability in a competitive market. For individuals, the awards provide an opportunity to highlight achievements in product development, project delivery or technical leadership.

Celebrate with us

Winners will be announced on 15th October 2026 at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London. The ceremony brings together professionals from across the supply chain

to celebrate success, network, exchange knowledge and discuss the technologies influencing the sector’s future.

Entries are free and can be submitted via the official website: https://iandeawards.co.uk/ enter/. Once the deadline closes, judging will begin. In the Product and Individual categories, an online public vote will account for 50 per cent of the final score, combined with the decisions of an independent judging panel. In the Business categories, the online vote alone will determine the winners. As electronics and instrumentation technologies continue to advance, the awards aim to capture both incremental improvements and breakthrough developments that are driving the next phase of industrial technology. With a broad range of categories available, there are opportunities for organisations of all sizes and specialisms to take part. To find out more and submit an entry, visit the official website at:
