uring the four days of the trade fair, we have welcomed a targeted audience of professionals and once again we have proved to be the
reference point for the volume footwear sector, able to offer, thanks to Gardabags, a complete and integrated business experience for leather goods”– states theChairman of Riva del Garda Fierecongressi, Roberto Pellegrini. “Astrong international vocation emerges as the key strength of the two events: indeed, in over 40 years of the history of Expo Riva Schuh, we have developed a policy of allegiance and relationships with the various players in the market, to the point where we involve companies and buyers from every corner of the world.”
The increasinglywide network of relationships with the major leaders of
the footwear and accessory sectorsis proven by the participation, at this latest edition, of twenty or so collectives, associations and groups of exhibitors from countries of strategic importance for the sector, such as Italy, China, India, Brazil, Turkey, Portugal, Great Britain, Bulgaria, Spain, Hong Kong and Pakistan.

I attended the latest edition of Expo Riva Schuh and Garda Bags in January. It was a good Show, with busy isles and agents clearly taking orders on the stands. Garda Bags now has a
glamorous new entrance at ground level, which leads through to the Footwear halls. It is a great addition to Expo Riva Schuh and was well attended, along with the footwear. I always look forward to this Show and it was wonderful to be back in Riva, with its snow-capped mountains, clear air and brilliant sunshine! Cheryl T

The 1,310 exhibitors, brands and companies represented at the 93rd
edition of Expo Riva Schuh (of whom 266 were Italian and 1,044 came from abroad), and the 78 companies present at the 4th edition of Gardabags - 36 Italian and 42 from other countries – have all presented their samples in an overall exhibition area exceeding 33,000m2.
Once again at this edition, the level of fidelity was very evident, the
equivalent of 95% of exhibiting companies registered. Expo Riva Schuh and Gardabags do not lose their exhibitors and continue to be considered the ideal venues for a guaranteed planning of business meetings, thanks also to their strategic positioning within the sector’s exhibition calendar. The January edition is where the previews for the 2021 Autumn/Winter collections are presented.
A perfect balance between supply and demandis what helps to reinforce
the event’s reputation.“In line with the dynamics of the market, in terms of production and consumers, the leading lights of Expo Riva Schuh and Gardabags were China, Italyand India, bringing 398, 302 and 112 exhibitors respectively,” states Carla Costa, Manager of the Fairs Unit of Riva del Garda Fierecongressi. “These days, we note that the price range of the products displayed and demanded within the exhibition is increasing slightly, positioning itself between 16 and 30 euros. Another important factor is the presence, amongst the buyers, of large distribution chains, (those with over 50 shops), that shift 20% of footwear orders at global level.”
The training offered by Expo Riva Schuh and Gardabags was greatly

appreciated by companies and buyers alike. With its calendar of appointments dedicated to sustainability in fashion, the circular economy, design and new purchasing trends, the exhibition once again highlighted its fundamental role as a workshop for ideas, creativity, knowledge and competence for the footwear and leather goods market.
The next dates for the 94th edition of Expo Riva Schuh and the 5th edition of Gardabags are from June 13th to 16th 2020.
