EVENT Motek/Bondexpo 2024

A new impetus for future-proof production

Motek/Bondexpo takes place in Stuttgart on 8th-11th 

T

he hurdles to automation are being lowered further. This is what this year’s 42nd Motek, international trade fair for

production and assembly automation, together with the 17th Bondexpo, international trade fair for adhesive technology, wants to show. From October 8th to 11th 2024, the production automation industry will meet in Stuttgart  automation solutions. Exhibitors will meet the right target group here, and users will receive concrete answers to their questions. Production automation specialists will discuss, on the tried and tested industry platform, how production processes can be further improved. Manufacturing companies have major challenges to   and the shortage of skilled workers must also be compensated for. Automation is therefore advancing and digitisation will continue to permeate processes.

Future-proof solutions  systems help manufacturing companies to use automation technology quickly and easily. Manufacturing companies must continue to reduce their carbon footprint and are looking for resource-saving, economical solutions. The range of topics at the trade fair includes four main areas: networked, smart production components and systems, for example grippers and components with sensors, handling systems, handling solutions, intelligent screw technology, smart linear technology, mechatronic systems, smart drives and feed components for component transport. The second topic pillar is assembly assistance systems - including systems for manual and semi-automatic workstations, for assisted picking and assembly, software-supported worker guidance, automatic bin picking, co-working with cobots, robotics and automated parts provision and removal. A third focus is on solutions for easy implementation and commissioning - this includes planning software, simulation software, solutions for the digital twin, easy-to-install plug-

and-play solutions and also starter kits for manufacturing companies. Finally, the fourth main topic is object recognition and image processing, such as sensors,  part detection for the purpose of position recognition and position control, as well as solutions for visualisation including software and AI support.

For many companies, Motek/Bondexpo is traditionally the most important trade  concern, the solution to which they tackle directly with suppliers after the trade fair. In this way, exhibitors can strengthen their market presence, establish valuable business relationships and increase the awareness of their technology. At Motek/ Bondexpo, engineers and designers get the solution ideas they need. Companies can meet both customers and suppliers. The supporting programme will also contribute to this valuable networking as an ideal complement to the trade fair visit. It enriches the trade fair visit with in-depth information and opens up further opportunities for personal professional exchange. A traditional item on the Motek/Bondexpo program is the Pilz Safety + Security in Automation specialist forum, which takes place on  2024. The specialist forum is a meeting place for experts from associations, science and industry who want to learn more about the trend topics of safe automation and machine safety. Interested parties can attend all lectures individually and without prior registration. A new item on the programme this autumn is a lecture forum by Pelemedia with the topic “Don’t be afraid of AI - use potential,

stay competitive” on October 9th from 9:30am. The forum is aimed at companies and specialists who want to deal with the possible uses and challenges of AI  from a deeper understanding of the potential of AI and learns about practical solutions. The forum aims to create a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience and promote networking in order to ultimately make optimal use of the potential of AI. The Fraunhofer contributions on the topic of AI should  IPA “AI-based robotics - How can manufacturing companies get started?” on October 10th. After that, from 10.30am, the Fraunhofer Institute for Cognitive Systems IKS will give a lecture on “Flexible quality control: solutions for the challenges of AI- based automation”.

Automation - easy to implement The manufacturing industry needs further developed solutions in order to be able to work even more economically and  is on practical solutions for systemic and future-proof production. Anyone in the manufacturing industry who wants to automate a process or function, will  at Motek/Bondexpo. The exhibitors are suppliers and manufacturers of components, products, component groups and complete systems for economical and future-proof production and assembly automation. The autumn event will give the industry new impetus in terms of cost- 
