Manufacturing & Supply Chain Expo 2022

T

he decline of the UK manufacturing industry has been overstated. Although no longer the global leader,

the UK is currently the world’s eighth largest industrial nation and could well become a top five player by 2023. Employing 2.7 million people and accounting for 45% of the UK’s total exports, the manufacturing industry contributes 11% of annual GVA (gross value added), provides 13% of business investment and represents 69% of business R&D (research and development). However, a cloud of uncertainty due to Covid, Brexit and the possibility of trade wars prompting a global economic recession is hanging over the industry and impacting on investment decisions. What is certain is that just as Britain pioneered the industrial revolution, it will also play a key role in shaping the digital technology that is radically transforming the nature of manufacturing and its associated supply chain.

National forum

The Manufacturing & Supply Chain Conference & Exhibition being held at the Arena MK in Milton Keynes on March 10th 2022 will serve as a national forum for manufacturers and operators involved throughout the associated supply chains from across the UK, to
