IO-Link supports easy installation
expansion, as additional sensors can be added with a minimum of extra wiring
The benefits of the new plant also extend
beyond ordinary day-to-day operation, as ABM has incorporated provisions for remote access. This means that should a problem arise, ABM engineers can quickly review the issue without having to visit the site, saving time and money and ensuring that downtime is kept to a minimum. Remote access also provides a convenient route for delivering
software upgrades to fine-tune the plant's performance and add new features. The storage area incorporates a novel
routing manifold that can simultaneously rework products, perform CIP operations and supply product to all fillers. The plant's three CIP facilities currently have five cleaning streams, increasing to 12 when all are fully installed, while the water services section
incorporates deaerated liquor (DAL), soft water and raw water systems, with fully pressure- controlled ring mains for DAL and soft water.
