TECHNOLOGY IN ACTION ADVERTORIAL

Fulton’s offers 10-year warranty on VSRT F

ulton’s VSRT steam boiler, which already boasts ultra-low NOx emissions and high efficiencies, now comes with a 10-year

“unparalleled” warranty on the pressure vessel, double that of the industry standard. Commenting, Fulton’s Leigh Bryan says: “The VSRT’s unique spiral-rib

F

innish Meteorological Institute (FMI) is delivering pressure and humidity measuring devices based on

Vaisala's technology to NASA's Mars 2020 Rover. The pressure measurement devices were finalized earlier this year and now also the humidity measuring instruments are completed and ready for the final testing. NASA's next mission to Mars will take Vaisala's

innovative technology to the surface of the red planet. The devices are provided by Finnish Meteorological Institute as part of Spanish MEDA (Mars Environmental Dynamic Analyzer) device package, which will be installed in the Mars 2020 Rover. The Rover will also carry Vaisala's newest and advanced pressure and humidity sensors, which have never been used on Mars terrain before. FMI's MEDA PS and MEDA HS instruments will measure

the pressure and humidity of the atmosphere of Mars. The measuring instrumentation is now calibrated and finalized.

design creates a longer-lasting boiler that we believe will beat the competition in every category of durability so we have decided to include a 10-year warranty on the pressure vessel as standard!” The patented spiral-rib heat exchanger design – a result of the

company’s ‘Pure Technology’ approach to systems engineering – not only allows Fulton to improve boiler efficiency but, with virtually zero thermal stress and a thick-walled construction featuring vertical tubeless design architecture, the VSRT is one of the most durable steam boilers available.

Martindale offers a flexible solution to safe isolation M

artindale Electric – UK market leaders in safe isolation – is pleased to announce the arrival of its latest CABLOK series, which provides

installers and maintenance teams with a simple and reliable solution for locking off multiple breakers, switches and valves, to prevent the re- energising of circuits and systems during maintenance, as part of a safe isolation procedure. The latest range of adjustable cable lockouts feature a flexible, PVC-

insulated steel cable which is easy to thread and, can be simply adjusted to suit the required length before locking off with a simple squeeze action. Incorporating a built-in safety hasp, with space for up to six padlocks to be securely fixed, it allows multiple operatives to safely work on the same system. For additional safety, the system cannot be re-energised until all padlocks have been released.

Roquette Protects Powdered Gluten from Metal Contamination with Bespoke Solution

R

oquette is ensuring the highest standards of food safety and product quality with a bespoke double

row magnet from Eclipse Magnetics. The unit consists of a double row of magnetic bars which has been installed as part of a new sifter installation for powdered gluten at its plant in Corby, Northamptonshire. As a global leader of natural- based ingredients for the Food, Nutrition and Health market, Roquette supplies gluten to a variety of blue chip food manufacturers. Roquette needed to pass the powdered gluten

product over an offset double row magnet with a minimum strength of 8000 Gauss, and approached experts in foreign body removal, Eclipse Magnetics, to meet the highest standards of safety and quality. Eclipse Magnetics supplied Roquette with a bespoke double row magnetic unit with magnetic bars, which are not only withdrawable, but also easy to clean. A catchment tray was also included to effectively contain any residual gluten which can be dislodged from the bars as they are withdrawn for cleaning. The unit has been installed at the end of the process, before the product is filled into tankers or tote bags, and the residual product captured by the magnets is collected in clearly marked bags and disposed of. Ian Aunger at Roquette said: “The result is an

aesthetically pleasing system, which is effective in trapping metal contaminants and is easy to clean. Although the design of the magnet system was not easy because of the limited headroom and space, Eclipse Magnetics were willing and able to meet all of our design criteria.”

Full steam ahead with help from Riello

R

iello has donated an RL34 oil burner to the Internal Fire Museum in Cardigan for use in the first of its steam

halls. The burner is fitted to a Beel VFB boiler donated by Cochran UK. The Internal Fire Museum was founded in 2003 to cover

the history and use of large engines in the 20th Century. The first of the steam halls was opened in April 2018. The Museum’s Paul Evans commented: “The steam hall has seen a fantastic show of help from companies such as Riello and Cochran. Without the generous assistance of these companies the museum would not have been able to complete the project on schedule.” The RL Series of two-stage burners covers a firing range from 154kW to 2700kW.
