With the growth in electric vehicle sales, EV charging is in demand. Charging stations are appearing around the country and slowly becoming a part of new life. Youmayuse someof the following panel components in your EV charging stations if you areamanufacturer. It is important to have themost effective components within your EV charging station to contribute towards auser-friendly, aesthetically pleasingand highly efficient investment.

BEACONS / DUAL COLOUR BEACON (IMAGE 1) Dual coloured beacons are used for a visual indication of status, for example, you may use green and red to show the level of battery charge. Another example includes using the colours to indicate whether the charger is free to use and red for not in use.
CABLE ENTRY SYSTEMS (IMAGE 2) Cable entries are an ideal solutionwhere pre assembled cables and conduits are being used in charging stations and power distribution channels, where space is restricted. Most cable entry systems consist of only 3 parts, and the feed-through openings can be adapted to your charging station requirements.
HEATERS AND FANS (IMAGE 3 AND 5) Depending on the size, location, and type of charging station, various heating and cooling components may be required. Youmust optimise the temperature within the system to prevent low temperatures and condensation, which could damage electrical components.
TERMINAL RAILS (IMAGE 4 AND 7) Terminal rails are the backbone of electrical control systems. These devices will secure two or more wires together and are enclosed in safe insulated housing. Terminal rails increase safety and protect other components in the charging station, making them essential for EV charging stations.

CABLE GLANDS (IMAGE 6) You would typically find cable glands inside the charging station for supply and ancillary signalling cables. The use of cable glands prevents any external interference from entering the station and disrupting any of the electronics and communications.
ENCLOSURES (IMAGE 8) Enclosures are used to protect valuable electrical components within the EV charging station from the outside elements, as well as protecting users. Choosing a high-quality, robust enclosure can improve the aesthetics of your EV charging station. They can bemade to order in a range of sizes and colours to fit with your brand image. Polycarbonate enclosures would be used for external EV charging systems.

Katronic clamp-on, non-invasive ultrasonic flowmeters have been supplied to amajor biomedical product manufacturer where cleanliness is paramount, making it difficult to cut into process pipelines, and have helped site engineers by significantly reducing project lead time and costs. There are many processes where clean
operation is imperative, for example foods, fine chemicals and biosciences. Clean-downs and changeovers can take a long time. Katronic channel partner and instrumentation specialists WE Instrumenta- tion found that one of their key customers had a real issue gaining permission to install new flow measurement, with typically six months of investigation and effort before permission would be granted to break into site pipework to install new instruments. Katronic’s Matt Bird visited site and demonstrated the equipment by quickly achieving a good
flow measurement using a hand-held KATflow 200 portable flowmeter. One of the key advantages of Katronic equipment is the fact that the ultrasonic processing core of every meter in the range is the same, so a measurementmade with a portable meter absolutelymimics the performance of a fixed flowmeter. Installation is also straightforward with Katronic’s unique Audible Positioning Assistant that guarantees accurate sensor positioning. Following the successful demo, an initial order of Katronic fixed systems was purchased, followed with further orders after the first batch had proved to be as successful as the demonstration. Commenting,WE Instrumentation’s Martin Adams said, “We see this as a great result for both Katronic andWE Instrumentation and proves the important points that clamp-on flow is the only technology that can be retro-fitted and provides a solution where company policiesmake permission to break into pipes, possibly introducing contamination and disrupting production nearly impossible.”
