Cliff Electronics adds to its RAFT connector range
Cliff Electronics has announced new additions to its right-angle feed through (RAFT) connector range.
The Cliff RAFT connector range is ideal for connectivity in wall mounted boxes where the depth is not available for rear entry or where cable access is required from the bottom or top. They also reduce the space required for interconnection at the rear of rack panel systems and provide vertical connections for convenient top to bottom wiring. Three new RAFT connectors have been introduced: USB-2, USB-3.1 and USB-C. They are available in two widths to assist with product design:

Other RAFT connector options available in both sizes include CAT5e RJ45, CAT6 RJ45 and HDMI. Nick Leppard, technical sales manager at Cliff Electronics, says: “Our right-angle feed through connector range has been highly successful.”
Weald Electronics, a major UK manufacturer of electrical connectors and accessories for defence and demanding industrial applications, has completed the installation of a 63kW solar PV installation at its Slinfold Lodge head office. Working with the Brighton Energy Cooperative, Weald Electronics received a grant towards the costs from the Community Solar Accelerator programme and were the first business applicants
to complete such an installation. Simon Hammerton, mnaging director of Weald Electronics, said: “We are always looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint and achieve our environmental goals while finding ways to mitigate the ongoing cost concerns of our customers. “We were very pleased to have been able to take advantage of the Community Solar Accelerator grant programme and expect our solar power installation to be a great benefit to our carbon footprint, cost base and product competitiveness. The current, exceptionally high electricity prices and predictions of further increases made us decide that this was a good time to intervene and install solar panels.”
