Amphenol Provides Wind Energy Market with Higher Reliability
land, or off-shore applications. They can withstand vibration, salt spray, humidity, dust, EMI/EMC as well as temperature extremes.

Amphenol LTW (ALTW), a division of Amphenol Industrial Products Group, offers a line of waterproof screw vents for industrial applications. The Screw Vent M12 series provides a durable and reliable solution for complete enclosures in harsh environments.
Designed to withstand extreme changes in pressure, while remaining reliable, this new series of vents feature a strong, flexible flat surface with hydrophobic/oleophobic membrane and O-ring, as well as a silicone seal to help keep liquids, oils and moisture out. The new vents are ideal for use in renewable energy, LED lighting, broadband wireless access and security system applications.

mphenol’s wind products, distributed by various divisions of the company, are designed for use in on-
readiness. During prototype development, the drive manufacturer conducts comprehensive tests with frequency inverters and motor starters in an EMC cabin at the company's HQ location in Germany. These documented tests significantly accelerate the CE certification process. Electromagnetic compatibility or EMC testing examines two different aspects: on the one hand, drive electronics are checked for their own emission of electromagnetic energy, which must not exceed specific limit values. On the other hand, these test objects must also be confirmed to be immune to interference from other emission sources. Using the in-house EMC cabin, NORD is able to detect potential problem sources at an early stage and efficiently resolve any such issues well in time.

Within the standard range of combo d- subs are versions enabling 2, 3, 5 or 8 x 10A, 20A, 30A or 40A solder cup, straight or right angled PCB contacts or HV contacts to be used on their own, without
signal contacts. These combination connectors all feature the polarised shielding D shell to prevent mis-mating; high density space saving packaging, and diverse mounting options. For example the 8 x 40Amp contacts sit in a shell size 4 which is the normal 37 way dsub footprint.

New compact, cost effective optical encoders offer improved reliability.
- 12.7mm package requires only 7.5mm back panel depth, capable of over 1 million operating cycles
range of optical encoders that set a new benchmark for compactness and reliability. Manufactured by Grayhill Inc, the 62xG range of encoders feature a patented optical switching technology that delivers a 2 bit digital quadrature output. Capable of over 1 million switching cycles and featuring a rugged enclosed metal body, metal shaft and optional central pushbutton, the new optical encoders are a more durable and more cost effective alternative to conventional mechanical encoders.
H
The Grayhill 62xG range of optical encoders comprises three cost competitive product types , each offering different features to match different application requirements.
62AG Series The 62AG Series products offers 16, 20, 24 or 32 pulses per revolution and the choice of pinned or flying lead connections in various standard lengths. Other options include high, low or no detent torque and a pushbutton.
62SG Series With a low 7.5mm back panel depth requirement Grayhill has designed the 62SG Series of optical encoders specifically for space critical applications. The devices are available with high, medium and low detent torque options.
62NG Series In addition to all the features of the 62AG Series 62NG Series encoders offer a non-turn pushbutton within the encoder shaft that ensures that any legend printed on the cap always remains upright when the encoder shaft is turned.
The new Grayhill 62xG range of optical encoders are part of an extensive encoder, joystick and rotary switch range supplied and supported by EAO Ltd.

Innovative Connectors with One-Step Locking Mechanism
R
osenberger introduces a new innovative connector series – SMP Infinity. The one-step locking mechanism
of these very small connectors – 40% smaller than standard SMA screw types – and their low insertion force (≤ 45 N) permit fast and easy connections. For horizontal and vertical disconnecting only tool is necessary which makes disconnecting also fast and easy – despite the high retention force up to 400 N. SMP Infinity connectors are designed for a temperature
range from -65 °C to +155 °C and can be used for frequencies up 40 GHz, e.g. in telecom or in aerospace applications. The product spectrum consists of straight and right
angle connectors, cable connectors, bulkhead types, PCB connectors – pin-in-paste, solder pin, surface mount or even rear mount types. Test adaptors and cable assemblies are also available.
