OKW’S sealed SMART-BOX
Enclosures For Tough Industrial Electronics
Growth in Industry 4.0, IoT/IIoT and Smart Factory technology is set to boost demand for OKW’s robust SMART-BOX industrial electronic enclosures. SMART-BOX (IP 66) is also ideal for control and systems engineering, safety technology, gateways and HVAC.
These tough wall-mount and tabletop enclosures feature separate channels for the lid screws and mounting screws. This enables them to be installed ‘lid closed’, protecting the seal and electronics in harsh environments. Hinged fl ush-fi tting trims conceal the case fi xings. Plastic retaining straps hold the lid in place when it is open. The lid is recessed to accommodate a

The enclosures are moulded from tough UV-stable ASA+PC (UL 94 V-0) in light grey (RAL 7035) as standard. They are available in eight sizes from 120 x 90 x 50 mm to 280 x 170 x 60 mm. Widths 90, 110, 130 and 150 are rated IP 66; 170 is rated IP 65.
Welcome to the July/August issue of Electronics for Engineers
F
ollowing our general election of July and an end to fourteen years of a Conservative government, it would only be right to wonder where this leaves the electronics industry. What we do know from the Labour manifesto is that workplace rights are regarded as a focus to them, so we can hope to see a focus on that in the coming years. No matter your opinion on the outcome of this election, we can agree that only time will tell how this sector will be affected by such a signifi cant change to our country.
In this issue, we will be exploring a
number of features, including Distribution, Enclosures, Embedded Technology, Power, Thermal Management & EMC, Supply Chain and Interconnection. I do hope you fi nd this issue informative and insightful; as always, if you wish to contribute to further issues or you have any feedback, then get in contact with me at
