FASTENINGS & ADHESIVES PRODUCTS SOLUTIONS WITHOUT SOLVENTS: LOHMANN’S INITIAL TWINMELT PRODUCT PORTFOLIO NOW AVAILABLE IN A TOOLBOX
Lohmann has been a pioneering force in adhesive tape bonding for 170 years now – and the year 2021 is no exception. Against the backdrop of sustainability as not just a
trend but a matter of their future-oriented corporate strategy, the Bonding Engineers have launched a new, eco-friendly technology that is doing without solvents and compromises: TwinMelt. At its core: an optimized value chain, consisting of future-oriented materials and adhesive systems as well as of an energy-efficient process. This smart process not only enables emission savings
within Lohmann’s manufacturing chain of up to 3,500t of CO2
per year – a value equivalent to the CO2 storage of
7,000 trees. By combining different materials, features and properties it also takes the well-established high- tech adhesive tapes of the company from Neuwied, Germany, to a new level. Conventional and UV hotmelts, new carrier materials and tape designs (symmetrical or asymmetrical, stripe coating) in various dimensions, as well as combinations of different chemistries, are used for individual customer requirements and toll coating in every industry; from Automotive, Graphics, Home Appliance & Electronics to Industrial and Medical. TwinMelt tackles the challenge of reconciling even the seemingly
incompatible: Environmental protection and economic efficiency, sustainability and market orientation, quality and flexibility. “We are ready to meet the needs of the market – on a worldwide unique, partially patented, plant developed especially for Lohmann with
various technology partners, which is up and running at our headquarters in Neuwied! For our customers we have now prepared a toolbox, containing the initial TwinMelt product portfolio which is the DuploCOLL 59XXX range,” explains Renate Fofana, head of Lohmann’s Industrial Market Segment. “And this is just the beginning. Stay tuned!”
