plates which integrate with Scolmore’s vast Click wiring accessories range. Unique to GridPro is the screw attachment feature, which means that no yoke is required for any modules when using 1-4 gang plates - the modules can be simply screwed directly on to the plates. This has the added benefit of allowing the installer to use standard back boxes. Additionally, all GridPro modules have a clipping feature, which makes for easy removal and assembly. Advertorial Assistance alarm kits from ESP
SP’s assistance alarm range is part of the company’s Beacon product range which includes disabled refuge and assistance alarm products. The assistance alarm kit is designed to meet the criteria of care standards that are set out in Part M building regulations BS 8300.
The Beacon assistance alarm range includes two kits, as well as a number of individual products that
can be bought separately. The simple to install 3-part kit comprises an Indication Module, Pull Cord Module and Reset Module and features a battery back-up function (battery included). The kits are available in a choice of white or stainless steel finish. The Indication Module includes an 80db distinctive tone alert sounder with clear LED alert triangle indication for when the alarm has been triggered. The Pull Cord Module features an anti-ligature mechanism and has a distinctive red pull cord supplied with 2 handles, including an LED alert triangle. The Reset Module features a clear LED alert triangle indication with internal sounder to reassure the user the alarm has been raised and assistance is on the way. The Alert triangle acts as push button to reset the alarm and is clearly indicated in tactile lettering on the module. The modules that make up the standard white kit are manufactured to include antimicrobial properties - making it useful in hygiene sensitive applications. The modules are also available to purchase as separate items. The compact design makes the products suitable for many interiors and the system is expandable to
include additional indication and pull cord modules if required. All three modules are designed to fit a standard 1-gang box.

Sports lighting that cannot be beaten
T
he new multi-million-pound Trailfinders Sports Club is second to none, constructed
by Tensile stretch fabric buildings specialist Collinson Construction. Collinson Construction worked with Zumtobel to meet all the sports facility’s requirements for the lighting. Eric McCormick, Mechanical
& Electrical Manager, Collinson Construction, says, “The Zumtobel CRAFT high bay luminaire was selected to showcase each sports area to its full potential, with the Collinson design team working closely with Zumtobel and the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to produce lighting schemes that would achieve Competition Regional/Club level artificial lighting to each of the sports areas resulting in some outstanding visuals both internally and externally.” The Cricket Hall scheme had to meet ECB requirements, and controlling the glare was a priority.
Paul King, Key Account Manager Zumtobel, said, “We needed to provide 1000 lux with a UGR<19. We delivered what was required using our CRAFT high bay luminaire with a narrow beam optic.” Similarly, for the Rugby Hall, Zumtobel’s CRAFT and RESCLITE PRO emergency luminaires were selected as they are certified for Sports Hall applications and perform well with lux levels (500 lux), glare (UGR<19) and efficacy (146lm/W). rimley, UK, 1st June 2023 – Carlo Gavazzi have launched the DLI-MCG024 DALI-2 Sub Master which when installed with the UWP 4.0 Controller supports the management of a complete DALI-2 network and input devices such as switches, dimmers and ballasts. This comprehensive lighting solution is
then easily integrated into the BEMS for intelligent monitoring and control of all building services. Up to 20 DLI-MCG024’s can be connected to Carlo Gavazzi’s UWP 4.0 (universal web platform), each
DALI-2 sub master can control up to 128 DALI-2 items. Lighting control functions are easily performed by the UWP 4.0, including switching, dimming, scenarios, calendars, constant light and white balance. The UWP 4.0 provides easy integration of the DALI-2 network into BEMS systems via BACnet
or Modbus/TCP to manage the whole lighting control system by via its powerful and user- friendly web interface. The DLI-MCG024 is part of a huge ecosystem of DALI products and is used as part of a Dupline® system.
