Diffusion leads with award-winning modular fan coils
T
he Modular Highline 275 offers a higher-capacity option within Diffusion’s modular range, delivering airflows up to 514l/s for larger-scale spaces, such as hotels, receptions, and offices. Compact dimensions, advanced components and exceptionally low sound levels deliver both reduced energy consumption and indoor comfort, while the range’s modularity contributes to reduced material waste and sustainability.
Awards
The HVR Award follows Diffusion’s win at the CIBSE Building Performance Awards 2024 where the Modular Highline 235 Fan Coil Range secured the ‘Product or Innovation of the Year – Thermal Comfort’ award. The company’s modular approach continues to gain recognition, with the Modular Highline 275 also shortlisted in the CIBSE Building Performance Awards 2026 within the same category. Across both ranges, the fan coils are almost endlessly configurable and designed to deliver quiet, high-performance, energy-efficient heating and cooling to create the perfect indoor environment.
Design
Innovation is at the heart of everything Diffusion does. The higher-capacity Modular Highline 275 expands the range’s application while maintaining noise ratings as low as
NR25, ensuring suitability for offices, high- end residential applications, and hotels. Its heat exchangers are specifically designed to achieve optimum heating and cooling performance using industry-predominant hot water and chilled water temperatures, while high-efficiency EC motor and fan assemblies deliver improved Specific Fan Powers (SFP) as low as 0.12 W/l/s. Diffusion has adopted CIBSE’s TM65 methodology to provide customers with accurate embodied carbon data at a component level.
The Modular Highline 275 range comprises eight sizes and 13 models, providing specifiers with flexibility and eliminating the need to over- specify. Diffusion has also introduced specific side access to fans, enabling maintenance in ceiling-mounted installations with restricted access. Both the Highline 275 and Highline 235 ranges offer side access variants.
Modular
The Highline 275’s modular design offers over 300,000 configurations, allowing attenuator and plenum options to be easily configured to suit applications. Modular units can be re- configured on-site if a building changes use, avoiding the cost and waste of replacing fan coils and supporting circularity and long-term sustainability.
Architects
As well as meeting technical demands, the Modular Highline 275 has been designed with
architects in mind. The units can be installed ceiling
exposed for industrial-style interiors or
ceiling installed for a discreet finish. Diffusion’s product portfolio also includes models suitable for ceiling, underfloor, and even wardrobe integration, supporting design-led high-end residential schemes and hotels. Units can also be powder-coated in a wide range of colours to support architects’ colour schemes or design concepts.
Open Days
Diffusion hosts regular Open Days at its UK manufacturing facility, where visitors can:
• See fan coil units assembled on the production line;
• Tour Diffusion’s testing rooms to witness acoustic, volumetric and thermal testing.
• Meet the Diffusion team, including Technical Director, John Hepper
