CHEMICAL INJECTION WITH KOBOLD’S OVAL WHEEL FLOWMETERS

O

ur high-pressure Oval Wheel Flowmeters are suitable for a variety of industrial applications where high pressure

flow monitoring and control is required; typically used on chemical injection skids in the Oil and Gas industry. With pressures up to 400 BAR, and flow rates up to 40 LPM (2400 LPH), our type DON flowmeters are manufactured to a very high standard at our Hofheim factory in Germany, providing high accuracy and reliable service. Typically, the usage is on Floating Production, Storage and Offloading Units (FPSO’s); designed to receive hydrocarbons produced from nearby platforms, process them, and store oil until offloading and transporting for injection into the well-heads; similar factory based processing applications are also common. Improved chemical dosing accuracy maximises efficiency and minimises chemical usage. Accurate and reliable flow measurement of corrosion inhibitors ensures optimal treatment.

Most common chemicals used are:

Methanol Glycol Biocide Anti-Scale Additives

Kobold

Inhibitors (for Wax, Asphaltene), H2S Scavenger, Scale Inhibitor, Demulsifier

4” MOBILE THERMAL LABEL PRINTER, WITH FLEXIBLE PAPER & PRINT WIDTHS

thermal paper and thermal label rolls and can handle paper/label roll widths from 44mm to 112mm by a simple adjustment of the internal paper roll holder. The compact clamshell design printer measures just 140x115x51mm and is rugged enough to withstand a drop of 1.5M onto a hard surface, comms and power connections are protected by a rubber cover preventing the ingress of moisture and dust. Fast print speeds of 80mm/sec for thermal paper and 50mm/sec for labels produce high quality text, graphics and barcode print outs almost instantaneously. Flexible communication is provided by a Mini-USB interface and Bluetooth (WiFi optional). A rechargeable Li-ion battery pack provides over 200 metres of print on a full charge and can be fully re-charged in 4 hours, the printer can also print during charging and has a standby time of more than 7 days.

MEASURING FLOW OF LOW VISCOSITY LIQUIDS T

itan Enterprises radial flow turbine

flowmeter range provides the ideal way for accurately measuring the flow of low viscosity liquids. For smaller diameter pipe applications - Titan Enterprise turbine flowmeters employ a design where the flow of fluid is directed at the turbine that is mounted on robust low friction sapphire bearings. The geometry of the turbine and the fluid chamber ensures that the rotational speed of the rotor is proportional to the flow rate through the device. The use of this radial arrangement advantageously allows more energy to be imparted into the turbine so the bearing drag is far less important. At higher flow rates - the Titan turbine flowmeter design allows some of the fluid to bypass the turbine chamber, which then behaves as a "shunt" to the metered fluid, as a result accuracy is still maintained and the output remains linear.

SICK T-Easic® is available in a choice of IP67 industrial or IP69 hygienic stainless-steel versions. Ideal for use with water or oil-based liquids, the T-Easic® can be set up to work with almost any media and is suitable for use with process temperatures between -40°C and 150®C and pressures up to 100 bar. It is therefore a versatile instrument that can be put to work monitoring coolants and

lubricants in machine tools, for oil management in hydraulic systems, or for run protection of pumps. It is also ideal for use with Clean-in-Place and Sterilise-in-Place systems in food processing, bottling and pharmaceutical industries. With probe lengths of 60mm, 100mm and 200mm, the SICK T-Easic® can be inserted in

pipes from 25mm right up to 400mm in diameter. Unlike many other thermal flow switches, the industrial version with robust VISTAL® housing features a clear OLED 180° rotatable display, making it easy to read when mounted vertically in a pipe or vessel. “The new SICK T-Easic® combines economy and ease of use for essential liquid flow

detection and measurement duties, such as protecting pumps from running dry, which could otherwise cause costly damage and downtime to pump and process machinery,” says Darren Pratt, SICK’s UK product manager for Industrial Instrumentation. “The sensor’s compression mounting adapter; reduced wiring thanks to IO-Link; easy

set-up, and a low-maintenance, wear-free design, all combine to make the T-Easic® an economical choice for new machinery or as a versatile replacement device to reduce
