“ My experience during the Global Action Program (GAP) last year was especially memorable. I had so much fun hanging out with my friends, and it was truly enjoyable to see the bond and have fun. At the same time, we made a meaningful change in the lives of the locals by building a biogas reactor for them, which was certainly a cherry on top.” ZHI HONG (’26)
BEYOND THE CLASSROOM Participation in co-curricular activities is a vital part of ISKL’s educational philosophy, and beyond the academic curriculum, students learn collaboration, camaraderie, and commitment through a variety of activities. These attributes are developed and practiced by students of every age on the track and trail, court and studio, and pitch and pool. ISKL students also compete
in many local and regional competitions throughout the year, which allows them to connect with students from other schools. ISKL is a proud participating member of The Association of International Malaysian Schools (AIMS) and the Interscholastic Association of Southeast Asia Schools (IASAS), where the High School Athletic Program competes at the varsity level.
AN AVENUE FOR CREATIVITY Creativity is central to a student’s development, and ISKL offers a wide range of opportunities embedded within its curriculum and co-curricular activities. Students’ self-expression and confidence are nurtured through talent shows, plays, musicals, choirs, youth orchestras, concerts, exhibitions, and more. Vayden shares this passion,
having taken part in productions ranging from The Great Gatsby to Mamma Mia!, noting that these creative outlets allow students to hone their talents and creatively express themselves on stage.
LEARNING THROUGH SERVICE Service learning is at
the heart
of the curriculum, transforming students into global learners with enduring values. Through a wide array of activities, students are empowered to make meaningful contributions to their communities, engaging in solution planning and action. For Zhi Hong (’26), these
experiences are foundational: “My experience during the Global Action Program (GAP) last year was especially memorable. I had so much fun hanging out with my friends, and it was truly enjoyable to see the bond and have fun. At the same time, we made a meaningful change in the lives of the locals by building a biogas reactor for them, which was certainly a cherry on top.” It is through these journeys that students discover that the greatest memories are often the ones made while helping others. At ISKL, the school is committed
