Steelite – Gembrook Each item in the Gembrook range is decorated with hand–applied glaze, allowing the beauty of the clay to show through. The bottom of each piece and small portions of the top are unglazed, to authenticate where the potter would hold each piece while glazing, resulting in double dips, drips, and exposed clay lending to its hand–thrown authenticity. Meanwhile, a handful of pieces flaunt a distinct indent, which mimics the thumb mark of the potter and creates a conversation piece for diners.
