Summer Sunday brass bands
The programme has been an nounced for this summer’s brass band concerts at the Clitheroe Castle Bandstand. The concerts are on Sun
days from 2-30 to 4-30 and the bands playing are: June 21st Baxenden Brass Band, June
28th Barnoldswick Brass Band, July 5th Preston Con cert Band, July 19th Balder- stone Brass Band, July 26th Slaidburn Silver Band. Clitheroe Town Band will
play at the annual Proms con cert on Saturday August 8th.
Quilt is being raffled for church funds
A quilt which has been lovingly crafted by the ladies of a Slaidburn sewing group will be on show at this weekend's Springtime in Slaidburn event. And at the event there will be the opportunity to buy raffle tickets to win the quilt which has beenmadebythe sewing group that meets in Slaidburn Village Hall on Wednesday afternoons. All funds raised from the raffle, tickets cost £1 or £5 for a strip, will be donated to St Andrew’s Church at Slaidburn. This weekend’s Springtime in ' Slaidburn event is taking place from Saturday May 2nd to Monday May 4th at St An drew’s Church from 10 am until 4 pm daily. thieves targeted an unlocked BMW parked on the drive of a house in Woodside Road, Si monstone. The offenders es caped with cash and a wallet! The incident happened be

ted acting suspiciously while withdrawing money from a cash machine in Whalley Road, Simonstone. Police are examining CCTV footage and believe the victim’s bank card was used in the fraud. On the same night, an iPad
