A HONEYMOON in Madeira followed the wedding of Mrs Carol Maudsley and Mr David Ashley Cocks in St Nicholas Church, Sabden, The bride, a retired civil servant, is the
eldest daughter of Mrs Frances Ormer- od, of Blackburn, and the late Mr Ernest Ormerod. The bridegroom, a retired biochemist,
is the eldest son of Mr Ernest Cocks, of Blackburn, and the late Mrs Joan Cocks. Given away by friend Mr Marcel Galea,
the bride wore a full-length gown of ivory slipper satin, with the bodice enhanced with crystals, diamante, moonstone and pearl beading detail. The back featured a iong train with tiny satin covered button fastening. A headdress of crystals held her ; veil in place. She carried a cascading bou quet of ivory and red roses decorated with pearls and glass beads. Matron of honour was the bride’s sister
Elaine Hindle and bridesmaids were Sarah Hindle and Victoria Hindle, the bride’s nieces. They wore complementing full- length dresses of Bordeaux duchess satin featuring ruched bodices with diamante beading and matching diamante tiaras.
The duties of best man were carried out
by Mr Garry Cocks and Mr Alan Cocks, the bridegroom’s sons, and the grooms man was Mr Clive Cocks, the bridegroom’s brother. Following the ceremony, conducted by
the Rev. Gill Dyer, a reception was held at Mytton Fold Hotel and Golf Complex, Langho.
