It took him eight days to travel the 80 miles from Ribches ter to York. This time he was blessed with good weather and showed some beautiful slides with informative and amusing anecdotes.
Members joined him in achieving his long awaited ambition of walk ing from the Ribble to the Ouse in the spring of 2004 after first being beaten by very severe adverse weather in 2001 when he had to be rescued by a farmer and his tractor from a very muddy field full of sheep.
