MARATHON mums Joanne Green and Eileen Sumner are going to amazing lengths to run
this year's London Marathon. . The duo can only train at the end of
a day's work; after they have picked up their five children from school, fed them and put them to bed. . Then Eileen (37), from Clitheroe, and
Joanne (36), from Waddington, take to the streets to prepare for the gruelling
26.2 mile run, which takes place on Sun day April 18th.

A HOUSE under renova tion in Simonstone was targeted by burglars. Thieves turned the gas supply off at the property on School Lane, some time between 4 p.m. last Tues day and 8-30 a.m. Thurs day, and made off with a combi-gas boiler valued at £550.

na Szucs (Violin), Miallayashi (harp sichord) and vocalists Julie Cooper (soprano) and William Towers (counter tenor), their rendering of the
works will produce the authentic sound of that musical period. Concert organiser Margaret Clark
heard Abendmusik last spring and was so delighted that arrangments were made immediately to book them for a ■visit to Clitheroe. The concert will be held on Tuesday,
March 2nd, at 7-30 p.m. Tickets are available from the Tourist Office on Market Place, at Clitheroe Music in Moor Lane, or if seats are still avail able, at the door.

ning more than 30 miles a week and are hoping to complete the. London Marathon in around four-and-a-half hours. Joanne said: "We are really looking forward to the day. We have trained real-
