What are you waiting for?
There is a great deal of confusion about how to access private medicine, but the answer is very simple. Whether you have private health insurance or not, for the majority of procedures the same process applies. All you have to do is make an appointment with your GP and asked to be referred to a consultant at a BMI hospital. The only real difference is how you then decide to pay for your treatment. Our options include payment by cheque, credit card, interest free payments with a BMI card
•or, of course, your own private health scheme. There are.certain instances, for example, physiotherapy and health screening, when you do not need to contact your GP first, "you can'sjmply telephone, your local BMI hospital for an appointment and
receive treatment very quickly. You can choose to pay for private healthcare by:
• Private medical insurance cover • Self Pay Scheme which accepts payment by: ' ®Cash • Personal Cheque
: v\ • Moist major credit/debit cards ®BMI Card

Hearing on extension refusal
AN informal hearing is to be held into a plan ning appeal by Oakhill College, Whalley.
The hearing, similar to .
classrooms, a staff room, offices and toilets which the college says are fun damental to its develop ment. It negotiated with council officials to meet all their requirements and they recommended the plan for approval. But councillors took
a public inquiry but on less formal lines, follows the refusal by the Ribble Valley Borough Coun cil's Planning and Devel opment Committee of the college's plan for a two-storey extension. This would house
the view that the build ing would look too large in that location and refused it. The Planning Inspec
torate has not yet announced a date for the hearing. .
