Methodist Church Women's Fellowship was Mrs Brenda Atherton, of Whalley, who talked about her life. She introduced her talk by saying she was an Anglican but. while attending college in Edinburgh, site started attending a Baptist church where she was baptised. She married a Baptist and at t heir wedding the minister gave them two pieces of advice: "Seek ye tirst the Kingdom ot God and His Righteousness", and "What ever lie tells you to do. do it". On coming to Whalley the couple joined the Methodist Church and were accepted as local preachers. She also told of two memorable holidays to Canada in the fall and to India to attend a wedding.
