PROTECT the Ribble Valley’s rural postal ser vice is the message local Euro MP Mark Hendnck has delivered to the European Parliament. Mr Hendnck backed a
proposal that any Euro pean laws on postal ser vices should be debated m public and not decided
upon by European officials using technical powers. The European Union
plans to introduce more competition to European, postal services, but Mr Hendrick wants to make sure that rural services are not threatened. Mr Hendrick said:

A NEW Zealand woman, anxious to know how her brother died over 55 years ago, is asking for help from residents of the Slaid-
