Choir turns music notes into money for children’s hospice
MEMBERS of a Clitheroe school choir and their music director helped raise £2,500 for Derian House Children’s Hospice when they participated in a gala concert at Blackpool
Tower. The 50 Moorland School pupils were among chil
dren from across Lancashire singing in a massed choir at the Tower Ballroom in front of an audience that included more than 200 people from Clitheroe and the surrounding area. Conducting the concert, which was promoted by
the YMCA, was Moorland’s music director Mr Neil Shepherd, who also performed a solo spot on the Blackpool Tower "Mighty” Wurlitzer organ, made
artist Peter Jebson and the show was compered by Nigel Ogden, presenter of BBC Radio Two’s^long- running programme, “The Organist Entertains.”
